About the Role

The Account Manager - Private Label is responsible for managing the day-to-day Private Label business for our major retailers as well as the total Aldi business. This role is also responsible for project management and end to end Private Label product ownership

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver the annual budget commitment for New Business & Private Label to hit sales and profit target;
  • Manage key relationships with emerging retailers to develop ranging- projects- deliver sales and profit targets;
  • Assist in driving improvement in forecasting and planning for the portfolio and support supply chain efficiencies;
  • Optimize PMO functional relationship to help deliver new private label projects in line with retailer timeframes;
  • Develop private label projects by connecting customer needs and our capability & capacity

Private Label Business

  • Meeting key customer contacts and building relationships with them- understanding tender dates & customer requirements- timely submission of tenders with major retailers as well as end to end account Management for ALDI.
  • Clear understanding of Customer Private Label strategies and the ability to proactively manage Customer needs with KH internal capabilities- developing opportunities for new Private Label business whilst retaining existing Private Label contracts.

Private Label Product Ownership

  • Manage and own the customer PL product development process.
  • Mobilize and liaise the business around key PL tenders:
    1. Briefing projects into Marketing- R&D- packaging- procurement- Operations & finance
    2. Understanding KH internal capabilities- cost competitiveness as well as margin requirements
    3. Proactively monitor progress of PL projects through the business within agreed timelines.
  • Liaising with both internal & customer Technical Departments on PL NPD and quality issues. 
  • Sales forecast management for Aldi business and all PL NPD.
  • The role will work closely with National Account Managers for Woolworths- Coles and Independents to understand the role of Private Label in all categories and accounts and will develop and execute complete commercial plans for Aldi and PL in majors.
  • The role will also work closely with the PMO roles for each cluster to meet the requirements of tenders for all Private Label projects- inclusive of reformulations- tender development- and value engineering.

About You

  • Previous Account Management
  • Private Label portfolio experience in Australian retail would be advantageous
  • Customer facing or selling experience
  • Commercial exposure to a full business P&L
  • Project & management
