The Role

This role sits within our Australia- New Zealand- Japan & Korea (ANJ) Business Unit which is a unique and fast-paced environment. Whilst our teams will continue to work remotely- this role is typically based in KHC’s Melbourne office but offers a flexible working policy.

In this role- you will be reporting to the ANJ Analytics lead- and working with the business to build and deliver analytics solutions. You will have a team of data engineers and work alongside other analytics engineers to design data models and visualization solutions. The analytics engineer will also influence how we leverage analytics in the organization- and identify opportunities to transform the business through the application of analytics. We are going through an exciting technology transformation and redefining our tools and ways of working which we’d love you to help shape.

As an analytics engineer- you’ll be working with other engineers and business stakeholders to answer the following questions:

  • Is it possible to build a single table that allows us to answer this entire set of business questions?
  • What is the clearest possible naming convention for tables in our warehouse?
  • What if I could be notified of a problem in the data before a business user finds a broken chart in Tableau?
  • What do analysts or other business users need to understand about this table to be able to quickly use it?
  • How can I improve the quality of my data as its produced- rather than cleaning it downstream?

Primary Responsibilities

  • Help to define and improve our internal standards for style- maintainability- and best practices for a high-scale data infrastructure
  • Expand our data warehouse with clean data ready for analysis
  • Work together with our data engineers and data analysts to define guardrails to build an environment which enables data democratization to enable organizational insights
  • Communicate recommendations back to the business effectively and efficiently
  • Small analytics project delivery including initiation- planning- scope- budget and change request management
  • Maintaining regular communications with active project teams and business stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve issues and risks
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

About You

  • IT related Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years relevant experience in data/analytics- preferably in a multinational industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Adept at queries- report writing and presenting findings
  • Track record with SQL (Python/R would be a bonus!) to drive business insights
  • Comfortable working with Git and the command line
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps best practices
  • Experience with Snowflake- dbt and Tableau would be advantageous
  • Clear and direct communication skills about complex- technical topics
  • A problem solver with an analytical mind and a thirst for understanding
  • A team player who enjoys working in an agile collaborative environment
  • Willingness to travel as required- and mobility is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills- experience of a multicultural environment is a major bonus
  • A keen learner- positive attitude and drive for results
