Description & Requirements

The Kroger Associate Director of Finance (ADF) serves as the voice of finance for Kraft Heinz’s 2nd largest US Retail customer. The ADF delivers results through collaboration on commercial business proposals- identifying trade spend optimization opportunities- analyzing financial variances to identify trends requiring action- leading monthly forecasting reviews- and partnering to build the annual operating plan.   

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the finance expert on the Kroger Leadership Team
  • Influence the leadership team to consider financial implications and drive profitable decisions
  • Coach and develop one direct report
  • Partner with Sales to build bottoms annual plans for key categories
  • Collaborate with Sales to build Joint Business Plan proposals and support customer negotiations
  • Build capabilities and routines to ensure effective control of trade spend and improved accuracy of financial forecasts
  • Own monthly business review and forecasting routines- identifying drivers of risk and opportunity vs. plan and supporting the team’s development of actions plans to close gaps to plan
  • Present periodic business results and forecasts to the Strategic Accounts Area leadership team
  • Partner with Revenue Management to identify and execute pricing and promotion optimizations

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.B.A. or advanced degree
  • Prior experience in CPG Sales Finance- Category Finance- or Revenue Management
  • Prior managerial experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong understanding of the Sales function
  • 7 years of related experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to deliver executive-level presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to influence cross-functional team members
  • Strong technical and systems orientation
  • Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Possesses the ability to lead teams and effectively work through others
  • Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management- in some cases without authority
