Associate Manager- IT – Development & Test Factory at a glance


The Associate Manager- IT – Development & Test Factory will be responsible for day-to-day leadership and direction of multiple global test cycles within an assigned release.  The responsibilities will range from developing the release test plan to managing- monitoring- measuring and coordination of overall test planning and execution.  This role will support project teams and coordinate across multi-functional teams for high-quality testing deliverables; promote rapid decision making and ensure the SDLC implementation facts are transparent and properly interpreted. To teach and coach COE principles and standards; to make fast/appropriate fact-based decisions and avoid analysis paralysis to ensure a quality working product. This role will also provide continuous improvements to release test standards- guidelines- and governances – Waterfall and Agile Methodology.

What’s on the Menu?

  • The responsibilities will range from developing the release test plan to managing- monitoring- measuring and coordination of overall test execution.
  • Lead SIT meetings and actively participate in defect resolution with cross functional teams.
  • Operate as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for testing governance- and best practices to coach partnering SDLC resources on deployment related issues related to- but not limited to- timeline constraints; and shifts in project priorities.
  • Demonstrate and apply a thorough understanding of PMO standards (PMBOK); with company culture and values to make recommendations; help solution complex testing problems and unique software delivery obstacles.  Mitigate and support to drive positive outcomes.
  • This role will initiate and manage highly collaborative cross-functional relationships to optimize shared processes and meet stakeholder requirements- use metrics and analysis to coordinate project teams and vendor resources for quality test deliverables.
  • Influence and drive completion for all aspects of testing governance and compliance including kickoffs- defect management- issue/risk management; coordination of key business users/PMO- 3rd party vendors and “hand-shakes” with developers.   
  • Conduct compliance and SLA audits for Global UAT governance – test metrics and defect reporting

  • SAP ERP w Legacy System Integration(s) knowledge a plus
  • Technical knowledge with ABAP background is highly preferred.
  • Functional knowledge like Order to Cash- Procure to Pay- Finance in SAP
  • E2E knowledge and Experience of supporting Project Management Office lifecycle activities within a mixed organizational structure (corporate- consultants- business- and IT)
  • History of successful project launches- and cost/budget reduction efforts
  • Able to work in diversified teams- and to guide- motivate- and influence large project teams.
  • Experience in team leadership and management of cross functional and integration teams
  • Experience working in multinational companies operating with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong business acumen and experience with testing methodology- disciplines- and activities- including test planning- preparation- execution- and reporting.
  • Demonstrated Team/Group leadership capabilities and people skills (i.e.  excellent verbal and written communication skills in client facing scenarios)
  • Proven history with creating data-driven presentations for C-Suite (PMO) discussions and decision points.
  • Experienced negotiator; intrinsic motivator; solid understanding for risk-based testing and lean thinking
  • Experience in handling and leading escalations and managing resolution of critical issues – global (worldwide) team scenarios.
  • Experience in coordination with PMO and aligning on methodology and process.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Experience with SAP Tricentis- SAP Focused build- HP-ALM- JIRA and Azure DevOps highly preferred.
