Description & Requirements

Role Summary

This is a research based technical development role providing direction for and execution of projects across our Food Beverage and Dessert. The candidate will be executing and/or driving technical projects to meet business initiatives focused on Innovation- Renovation and Brand Maintenance.

Key Components

  • Responsible for developing and commercializing new products- renovating existing products- reviewing and evaluating ingredients- and delivering cost savings across the FBD Category.    

  • Work collaboratively with Packaging R&D- Quality- Operations- Manufacturing- Project Management- Marketing- and Sales to drive- scope- execute projects to meet the business objectives.    

  • Technical project leadership activities include prototype development- cost evaluations- execution of factory trials- development of product specification- factory document generation- recipe and label development- shelf life assessment. 

  • Other project leadership activities include conducting risk and feasibility assessments- coordinating with cross-functional teammates to organize product tastings and sensory evaluations- set-ups of systems for new ingredients and finished goods.

Qualifications

  • BS in Food Science- Chemical Engineering or related field

  • 1 - 2 years of experience within food chemistry- analytical testing- formulations and processing used in food manufacturing

  • Understanding of ingredient functionality and interrelationship of ingredients- process- and packaging

  • Good communication- critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Self-starter with a passion to learn is a must

  • Strong understanding of Design of Experiments

  • Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to question the priority of work

  • Willingness to travel 30%

  • Internship or Co-op Experience in the food or consumer products industry preferred
