About the Role:

The Category Finance Controller has strategic and operational responsibility for driving sustainable revenue and profitability plans for portfolio as well as ensuring reporting and consolidation of the portfolio’s financial results. This role supports the Portfolio Head with major projects- from analysis to execution- and leverages insights to drive more efficient financial decisions for Kraft Heinz.

Must have strong people management and positively lead a team towards a clear vision especially during periods of change and ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering the Year

  • Working directly with the Head of Portfolio and Head of Marketing- Director of Commercial Strategy- and other senior leaders to ensure all are fully aware of the shape of the business- minimizing surprises
  • Manage and control the monthly- quarterly- and annual business cycles for the business unit
  • Assess complex situations and translate findings into recommendations and action plans suitable for executive management
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales & Trade Finance to vet financials of customer-facing opportunities and assess trade spend issues
  • Act as the gatekeeper of the P&L by challenging team to optimize financial results and paybacks
  • Add value to the business by ensuring cross-functional team receives timely information and understand its implication to support great business decisions
  • Drive profitable growth strategies by assessing- recommending and activating pricing- promotion and mix opportunities

Corporate Reporting

  • Own the Quarterly Performance & Growth and Quarterly Financial Forecast cycles- ensuring that business drivers of performance vs plan and prior year are clearly understood and communicated
  • Support with ANJ or International zone reporting requirements- where applicable

Planning the Future

  • Develop and lead 3-5-year strategic revenue planning for the businesses- including long range pricing- promotion and mix strategies
  • Preparing inputs for and analysing financial forecast- Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan including zero based budgeting 
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing in development of innovation P&Ls
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations to enable complete business reporting and understanding- driving efficiency to the portfolio through commercial assortment and value engineering opportunities scoping.
  • Build out or assist with tools- processes- insights and systems capabilities associated with performance in category- revenue management and category finance
  • Lead and develop a team of Revenue Management and Category Finance professionals towards a clear vision through navigating change and ambiguity

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications - Bachelors Degree- Masters or MBA preferably in finance or accounting
  • 10+ years of working experience preferably in FMCG
  • Strong positive leadership qualities that create strong team culture
  • Strong people management skills that can lead teams through change management
  • Ability to think strategically and translate this thinking into measurable actions
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and sell recommendations internally
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen that enable decision making
  • Ability to follow up- understand issues and their resolution- and work them through to completion
  • Systems knowledge a plus: Nielsen or IRi- BPCS- SAP- Regression Analysis- Market Track- Promotion evaluation tool
