Description & Requirements

We have an excellent opportunity for an R&D Development Chef to make a difference in our International R&D organization here at Kraft Heinz. This position lies within the International CTI & Culinary team where you will be working alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You’ll be reporting to the R&D Culinary Manager. This role collaborates very strongly with cross-functional colleagues and external partners.

Role responsibilities

  • Deliver/derive Culinary insights- trends- inspiration sessions as part of innovation projects
  • Define the 'culinary gold standard’ for product development projects
  • Co-ordinate and lead culinary product quality throughout the stage gate process
  • Co-develop and challenge product developers on functional aspects of the product through the PD process
  • Able to design and translate culinary prototypes to technically feasible commercial products
  • Develop and maintain a high nutrition awareness- combined with Culinary expertise and creativity
  • Ensure the compliance to the Kraft Heinz Code of Business Principles- all safety and hygiene policies required by local law.
  • Be an active member of the global KHC Culinary network community- sharing trends- recipe ideas- and building capabilities.
  • Lead the kitchen with a strong eye for business (safety- operational- financial)
  • Be involved in innovation/renovation projects- to provide technical expertise- Culinary knowledge and ensure that local/channel taste and quality expectations are met in collaboration with key partners.
  • Network with Culinary trendsetters within the chef world- culinary organizations- and institutes.
  • Responsible to prepare inspiration sessions or tastings for customers to present new products- demonstrate trends- & considering customer needs.
  • Support commercial chefs on Culinary quality of product portfolio- digital presentations- and selling stories
  • Train our commercial team to be effective in selling products and applying stories
  • Set the Culinary benchmark of product and activation material based on channel and co-own story development for NPD launches.
  • Lead tacit and expert insight- and provide Culinary guidance including flavour profiles and recipes for marketing materials.
  • Be the Culinary “conscience” & “Culinary face” of their respective market and champion the culinary image of Kraft Heinz
  • Responsible for translating technical product functionality and consumer centric trends into concepts- solutions- and recipes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Culinary degree (i.e. Certificates from hospitality school- apprenticeship- Bachelors diploma)
  • 4+ years’ work experience (international or specific region) in food service (applicable channels: hotels- FSR- QSR- pubs- catering- industry- or institutional)
  • 1+ years’ experience in a corporate R&D environment is preferred
  • Must have strong professional culinary background/credentials acquired in either a development chef capacity- or through classical catering college and supplementary restaurant/hotel training to a senior Chef level
  • Must have excellent communication and networking skills- with digital understanding
  • Excellent English language skills- spoken and written
  • Must demonstrate an enthusiastic passion for food
