About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Government Affairs professional to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. The position is based at the Company's International HQ in London. You’ll be working in an impactful team- alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You will be a member of the International Legal team reporting into General Counsel International and VP- Head of Global Government Affairs. The primary areas of focus will be Europe including member states and the UK.

Main Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a Government Affairs strategy for the International Zone with key deliverables including:

  • A Stakeholder Map identifying key government- NGO and other decision makers relevant for the business’ growth agenda- assigning responsibilities to GA professional and other team members in countries and maintain a network of key government influencers responsible for:

  • An Issue Log identifying key policy developments and the company’s advocacy and response plan (“lead & engage” messaging).

2. Coordinate Government Affairs plans and initiatives within the six Business

Units including:

  • Rituals and routine ensuring consistency in messaging and initiatives;

  • Align closely with U.S. initiatives;

  • Provide Government Affairs support in BUs with no dedicated GA support through alternative models such as consultants- educate KHC lawyers & business leaders;

  • Function as a center of excellence- collect and share best-practices- drive the agenda for better GA support throughout the IZ.

3. Enable technical experts in the Regulatory Team to be effectively present at legislative level- understanding and positively influencing the agenda in key regulatory areas including food law- packaging and circular economy- ingredients nomenclature and transparency- healthy living and sustainable lifestyles through:

  • Develop a Regulatory GA strategy and action plan for every BU-

  • Review execution of plan and ensure consistency-

  • Design rituals and routines so that all functional experts (FSQ- R&D- Categories) and regularly updated and contribute to the plans.

4. Reputational and profile building initiatives with governments and organizations:

  • Global and/or national-level organisations in support of the commercial goals in the IZ- such as UN/COP- World Economic Forum and other high-level initiatives in region.

  • Participate in industry initiatives (such as Consumer Goods Forum- Ellen MacArthur and Amazon Climate Pledge)- trade associations and NGOs. This would help raise category awareness or help the business respond faster to product stewardship issues arising in response to reputational or legislative developments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in government affairs and communication with a minimum of 10 years’ experience ideally within leading companies- consultancies or media agencies

  • Excellent work leadership skills and judgement with the capacity to make decisions and give counsel that reflects an understanding of overall business objectives and the risks/rewards of each situation

  • Strong leadership and project management skills- ability to think strategically- learning agility and strong organizational skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment that requires management of multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels within the organization.
