Description & Requirements

About the role:

Reporting to the Group Facilities & Environmental Manager- this 24-month fixed term role will focus on improving energy efficiency at all plants- by monitoring performance metrics and implementing process changes and projects. We're looking for a qualified Energy Engineer to join our close knit and dynamic team.  As a newly graduated- you’ll support in further developing our Energy Management System and support in preparing and suggesting Energy Savings initiatives- objectives and targets.


  • Effectively work across the business to collect- monitor- and evaluate trends for monthly energy reporting
  • key driver for change in any energy or sustainability projects identified
  • keep up to date with latest energy saving technology changes and make the suggested improvements across the business
  • Assisting with internal audits
  • Identifying opportunities and implementing strategies to reduce the use and cost of energy
  • Liaise with external organisations (e.g. energy suppliers- EECA) on energy related matter as required

About you:

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or similar.
  • Knowledge of chemical engineering theories- principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • An organised- detailed and thorough approach to tasks and project management.
  • Ability to produce quality work at a high level both as an individual and as part of a team.
  • A high level of computer skills (MSOffice essential; Basic programming- Solidworks- and statistical analysis desirable) and capable of learning new applications.
  • Excellent analytical- problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • A willingness to learn to develop her / his skills in order to strive for continuing expansion of responsibility.
