Role: Finance Manager  

Location: Kitt Green, Wigan

Purpose of role: 

As the Finance Manager, you'll report directly to the Site Financial Controller and play a key role in driving financial success for the factory. This is your opportunity to join our diverse team at our Kitt Green Factory, and to collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues who constantly strive for excellence in everything they do.  

  • Partner with Operations to optimise the site's budget through Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB). 

  • Analyse and lead the site's utilities budget and implement strategies to improve yield. 

  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for the site and serve as the right hand to the Site Financial Controller. 

  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance for engineering stock provisioning. 

  • Lead the coordination of the site's fixed asset count with the engineering department and report findings to the European Finance team. 

  • Navigate with third-party service providers to challenge cost structures and secure cost savings. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Perform month-end close activities: Including accruals, prepayments, and cost of goods closing routines in SAP. 

  • Deliver monthly management reports: Prepare variance analysis and commentary for management accounting reports. 

  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Maintain adherence to internal and external accounting standards (including SOX). 

  • Strengthen internal controls: Build and maintain robust internal control processes and systems. 

  • Empower business decisions: Provide financial analysis and support for informed decision-making. 

  • Collaborate for improvement: Work closely with cross-functional departments to drive financial performance. 

  • Forecast and handle budgets: Conduct monthly cost forecasting and lead the annual budget process including standard cost setting. 

  • Analyse and review financials: Prepare monthly balance sheet reviews with commentary. 

  • Lead inventory processes: Oversee annual stock count and liaise with auditors. 

  • Support annual audits: Assist the controlling team with annual stats audit. 

  • Manage intercompany transactions: Prepare and manage intercompany invoices. 

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance or a related field, or alternatively a professional finance qualification. 

  • Knowledge of supply chain finance / FMCG / manufacturing. 

  • Working SAP / ERP knowledge is a nice to have 

  • Strong Excel knowledge.
