Description & Requirements

Objective:

  • To lead engineering development activities including agile management of designs for strategic projects, site development plans and region feasibility studies.
  • To lead, develop and implement procedures, standards according to PMI and KH methodologies.

 
Key Activities:

  • Lead the multi-functional Project team, through regular team meetings, and engage Commercial and Technical stakeholders to ensure efficient running of the team.
  • Lead project Steering, ensuring senior management are updated on project progress and able to support the resolution of issues and roadblocks.
  • Lead feasibility studies for major Capex investments for Capacity, Innovation, Cost Improvement, and novel technologies, across the Latam Zone, working closely with S&OP, Supply Chain Development, R&D, and FS&Q, to make more timely decisions. 
  • Create standard engineering project designs and Capex estimates for major capital initiatives working together with Region capex leads and their local teams.
  • Define project goals, objectives, scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Complete full feasibility analysis, including all aspects of the project, in line with the company stage gate process.
  • Engage and align with senior executives, stakeholders, project managers, functional leads, and suppliers, demonstrating excellent communication and building strong working relationships.
  • Report project progress to all levels within the organization, locally, regionally and internationally. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to workstream project managers and functional leads.    
  • Responsible for timely and accurate submission of cost estimates, project plans, gate documents, CARs, etc, as required by KHC processes and routines.    

 
Skills (Experiences / Education):      

  • Track record of successful project delivery in an FMCG Supply Chain environment, with a degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experienced in managing, supporting, and challenging multi-functional teams of indirect reports.
  • Experience in Capital Project Management roles with budget responsibility of >$5MM.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Knowledge, experience, and gravitas to make recommendations and gain the support of very senior stakeholders.
  • Outstanding presentation skills and ability to conduct effective meetings and presentations with large teams.
  • Oral and written communications including presentation to management forums and able to create concise and effective reports and written business cases for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Direct and indirect line management experience.
  • Ability to manage complex cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in managing and mitigating risk.
  • Creative and pragmatic problem solver.
  • Demonstrable organizing, influencing, and planning skills.
  • Background in engineering, operations, or a technical function within food manufacturing is preferable, with some detailed knowledge of food manufacturing processes desirable.
  • Demonstrable skills obtained through food processing technology projects and working in a FMCG food production environment.
  • Experience of working with WCM (World Class Manufacturing), LEAN, or similar structured continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Numerical with sound budgeting skills and experience of project budget management and control.
  • Financial awareness to enable accurate assessment of project performance and business cases, including investment appraisals and profit and loss accounts.
  • Able to use experience and judgment to appropriately identify and effectively manage risks and develop contingency plans to resolve.
  • Computer literate including knowledge of web-based systems and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows suite.
