Description & Requirements

Job Summary/Purpose:

Verifies and maintains accurate inventory records.  Prints reports as required.  Operates keyboard to enter data into computer or disk for subsequent entry by performing the following duties.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Participate/support the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.
  • Enters and audits information into computer ensuring inventories are recorded accurately and documentation is in order. Assist forklift operators with printing pallet tickets and assigning stall locations where product is going to be stored.
  • Coordinates any change order activity- and communicate anything out of the ordinary to the supervisor- planners- manager- or any other party that might be affected. 
  • Compiles- sorts- and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.  Compares data entered with source documents- or re-enters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.  Deletes incorrectly entered data- and re-enters correct data.
  • Performs job assignments following all safety precautions and reports any unsafe conditions.  Ability to recognize- report and be involved in corrective action regarding any unsafe conditions.
  • Performs detailed reconciliation duties.  All SAP transactions that deal with receiving and shipping- average cost of $4 to $5 million weekly.
  • Audit forklift operator’s movement reports and makes necessary transactions on SAP inventory control system.
  • Verify all associated paperwork; Production Supervisor reports- freezer movement sheet and production tally sheets and ensure SAP data is entered accurately.  Compare paperwork to history of production transactions in EBPCS.
  • Accurately print open shop orders report for daily production input.
  • Accurately print open purchase/re-supply orders reports daily.
  • Accurately print production schedules for warehouse crew.
  • Accurately print production pick list daily and file accordingly.
  • Ability to find and work to resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance on any product placed or released from hold status- raw materials as well as finished product. 
  • Must be able to provide recall information to Q.A department; location of product by manifest number- pallet numbers and shifts. Must be able to provide recall information for raw material usage as well as disposals.
  • Posts finished goods outbound shipments- times- carriers- and prepares appropriate paperwork interpreting of pallets from cases ordered and maximize the weight and cube of each load of finished goods.
  • Keep and accurate stock status report for all raw materials located in factory as well as outside warehouse.
  • Work with American Transportation Systems- (ATS) on any special shipments- delivery dates- cancellations and any other information pertaining to carriers for outbound shipments and inbound receivables.
  • SAP- DRP- ORD in SAP- Stock Status Report- Production Reconciliation- Cost report.
  • Training and Safety – Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s Heinz Safety Process.  Oversee safety processes including- but not limited to- goal setting- hazard recognition- and elimination- administration of safety procedures and corresponding corrective action- area inspection- job skills- and compliance training- accident investigation and safety meetings.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; days- afternoons- midnights- overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • As necessary- other duties and/or projects may be assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree preferred- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) 6-months to 1-year inventory experience or combination of education and experience.

Skills- Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to read- analyze- and interpret general business periodicals- professional journals- technical procedures- or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers- clients- customers- and the general public.
  • Ability to add- subtract- multiply- and divide in all units of measure- using whole numbers- common fractions- and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written- oral- or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to prioritize and stay focused.

·Must be able to understand and- interpret computer terminology as it relates to data entry.

·Must pass computer competency test (i.e. spreadsheet- word processing)- and must also be able to type 50 wpm.

  • Demonstrate reliability and good work ethics- quality work performance- attention to detail is a must- and maintain a good working relationship with all other departments.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal- and organizational skills and must be detail and process oriented.
  • Willingness to grow with the organization.
  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and be able to identify and solve problems.
  • Incumbent must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Ability to stand- walk- sit- climb- balance- stoop- kneel- crouch and crawl.
  • Ability to use hands/arms to reach- handle- or feel objects- tools or controls.
  • Ability to work in all areas of the facility including hot and cold areas- and be exposed to wet and humid conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Must have excellent vision- distant and peripheral- with the ability to identify and distinguish colors- and adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually high- and ear protection is required.
  • May work near moving mechanical parts- high and/or confining places and in outside weather conditions.
