  • This is a role for someone who craves a global challenge balanced by the desire to be accountable for delivering a best practice model in the Global Center of Excellence at Kraft Heinz.  It is both a strategic and a tactical position.  Those that do not want to get their hands dirty or build out a function without buying pre-packaged solutions should not apply. 

Role / Title  - Global Lead - Commodity Market Research

  • Kraft Heinz is exposed to significant commodity price volatility which is proactively managed through robust price risk management processes and by leveraging internal competitive market intelligence. Our Global Commodity Research Lead role is a key leadership role within the global risk management team and will support setting commodity price risk management and procurement strategies.

  • This role will develop and communicate decision support to commodity risk managers- sourcing managers- and global procurement leaders of Kraft Heinz ’s major raw material spend areas. The role is responsible for the process by which competitive insights are created or purchased- supporting their use in cover strategies across Kraft Heinz- and proactively communicating market risks and opportunities to Sr. leaders. In addition- the role will be a leader in setting the price risk management strategy- best practices- training- and specialized talent recruitment and development.

Key Components of the role

  • Global leadership for the commodity risk management/procurement teams and senior leaders in Kraft Heinz units- segments- and at the corporate leadership level on the expected evolution of global commodity and macroeconomic risks to both commodities and the broader business.

  • Create and set strategic direction and vision for commodity market research strategies and process to deliver competitive insights that reduces Kraft Heinz costs and supply risk through the successful implementation of commodity risk management and procurement strategies.

  • Proactively communicate market opportunities and risks to all levels of Kraft Heinz. Support and drive insights for the creation of market assumptions held by the risk management and procurement teams and support coverage/hedging strategies global teams. Expand decision support and influence across Kraft Heinz business units as necessary.

  • Protect and extend the competitive advantage in commodity weather- yield- production- and price forecasts through continuous improvement- leveraging internal and external capabilities and new innovative methods and technologies.

  • This role will report to the VP- Global Commodities Risk Management and will work directly with a team of highly experience commodity risk management team. This role will also work closely with executive team members- global procurement leaders- and other cross functional partners in Kraft Heinz.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Economics- Statistics- Agriculture- or Meteorology. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in commodity markets and price risk management

  • Minimum of 2 years people leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to set strategy- articulate vision- drive research quality- and develop a remote team with specialized backgrounds- as well as aligning with key stakeholders- including senior leaders- business units- and buying teams.

  • Ability to present and communicate complex analysis to a broad- diverse audience.

  • Advanced experience in statistical forecasting- data analysis- and fundamental commodity market analysis

  • Proven Expert in price risk management principles- hedging tools- and best practice processes.

  • Understanding of how price risk management actions influence financials and the P&L

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time
