Global Revenue Management Data Translator

About the Position

The Global Revenue Management / Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO) team is looking for an experienced and dynamic Global Revenue Management Data Translator to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. You’ll be working in a newly created cross-functional team focused on the creation- launch- maintenance and evolution of systems and tools in the promotion optimization space. You’ll be reporting to the Promotion Optimization IT Lead. As global and cross-functional- there is significant exposure to senior stakeholders.

You will be accountable for translating business needs into data requirements to support the roll-out and evolution of Promo Optimization products across the globe. You will be challenged to understand what the tools require from a data perspective and work to identify what data is available and relevant- including internal and external data sources- and leverage new data sources or business logic to close gaps. You will lead the relevant data owners & engineers to extract the right data and deliver to product developers in the correct format. You will be responsible for putting processes in place to update and maintain data for TPO products.

With a solid understanding of the business problem and data requirements- the Data Translator identifies the data that should be used within the TPO ecosystem and co-ordinates with the team members to build- deliver and maintain this TPO data to the right agents.


Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a candidate who has a technical background in data engineering and strong communication skills to understand and translate business needs. The right candidate will have good business acumen- particularly from a commercial point of view. Previous experience in the FMCG industry is not necessary but is a plus. This individual should be comfortable communicating with and influencing senior stakeholders across the company. The ideal candidate will also have a successful track record of executing transformation projects. True ownership- strong analytical skills and business acumen are key characteristics to excel at this position.

Responsibilities:

  • The Data Translator bridges the gap in expertise between technical teams- made up of data scientists- data engineers and software developers- and business stakeholders- focused on data.
  • Support the Trade Promo Optimization IT Lead and the Product Owner in managing large scale TPO projects – engaging with developers (internal or external) and KHC commercial teams in different countries. You will leverage business data and statistical methods to provide insight into key performance indicators for trade promotional optimization within Kraft Heinz globally
  • Be an agent of change into Kraft Heinz Company organization- using data- statistics- process and communication skills to move different stakeholders towards the goal of optimizing promotions
  • As a subject matter expert- design and recommend appropriate data solutions and engineering approaches to address key issues within the business- balancing priorities and resources.
  • Liaison with the stakeholders to understand their business peculiarities and develop and implement solutions that will support them in driving promotional effectiveness.
  • Communicate data engineering strategies and concepts to various levels of the organization and document issues related to the projects when necessary
  • Partner with the Trade Promo Optimization IT Lead- the Product Owner- the Global Rev Man Capabilities Lead- and other Data Analytics lead to set the data analytics vision and strategy
  • The Data Translator will work with a team of data engineers to extract- connect and map data to be used in the TPO products. They will also put processes in place to create sustainable data flows.
  • They will build solutions to clean and validate data and create exception reports. They will identify data gaps and recommend the best course of action to treat this and put processes in place with business teams to address.
  • They need to ensure the data outputs are delivered in the correct format and understood by the data scientists that will use the data to build statistical models for the TPO products- or to be used in the user interface.


Requirement & Skills

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering- computer science- statistics- data science- software engineering
  • Minimum 3 years hands on- industry experience in analytics/data engineering- in a fast-paced environment and participating in large projects
  • Excellent SQL database skills and experience with Cloud- GitHub- Snowflake and Azure DevOps is preferred
  • Skilled at problem solving and idea leadership
  • Ability to work independently and project manage with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize and follow through
  • Highly organized with a keen sense of focus and ability to meet required goals under time critical deadlines in an intense environment
  • Demonstrated financial and business knowledge with an understanding of business concepts such as Profit & Loss (P&L)- pricing- promotion- margin and the ability to translate these concepts & requests to data solutions.
  • Proven ability to interpret data and translate to business terms. 
  • Excellent experience with MS Office (i.e.- Excel & Powerpoint) and knowledge of BI Tools (Tableau- Power BI- etc.)
  • Strong communication skills- with ability to understand the context and utilize it to drive an agenda
  • Strong ownership- never giving up and really committed to drive an agenda even in adverse environments
  • Language fluency: English
