Key Responsibilities:

  • The Global Upstream Lead reports to the Global Category Lead Blow molding and is part of the Global Sourcing team based in the financial heart of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

  • In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for the category and sourcing strategy for Upstream resins globally and will co-build and roll out the global Blow Molding strategy.

  • Accountable for delivering the Procurement fundamentals on Global Upstream Plastics (eg virgin and recycled resins like PET/ HDPE/ PP) meaning budgeting, tendering, negotiation, contracting, risk mitigation, robust market intelligence, should cost assessments and acting as the global expert for your area.

  • An essential part of the role is building partnerships and SRM with upstream selected suppliers.

  • You will be operating in a complex global multi-stakeholder and cross-functional environment to leverage scale - creating best in class partnerships internally and externally delivering cost- cash- quality- service- sustainability and innovation value to Kraft Heinz Business units.

  • Close Collaboration with the Procurement Sustainability program owner to help and co-drive the packaging sustainability agenda for resins.

  • Partner with the Global Risk management team and external experts to identify the best strategies for commodity / resin management.

  • Build close relationships and secure alignment across all zones embedding processes and ways of working as per the Procurement collaboration model.

Job related experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics, Finance. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Credible and recognized Global Procurement leader with experience gained in FMCG / large BlueChip companies. Minimum 8-10 years of experience.

  • Packaging Procurement Experience is critical, ideally having knowledge of the supply chain of different types of Packaging and resins. 

  • Display leadership behaviors aligned to Kraft Heinz values to drive a culture of “Consumer obsessed, do better every day, own it and do the right thing”.

  • Highly developed business and commercial savvy with proven success in delivering a competitive commercial advantage.

  • Highly skilled negotiator with complex negotiation experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Able to develop and present convincing arguments and business cases to stakeholders enabling change.

  • Resilient and persistent with the ability to make the right decisions in challenging situations. 

  • A leading example of Grit, having the passion and perseverance to deliver long term strategic goals.

  • Creative, conceptual thinker with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
