Group Lead, Manufacturing- Technical Platforms, Electrical Engineer at a glance...

The Group Lead – Mfr, Technical Platforms, Electrical Engineer will be part of a small team focused on assessing and developing a manufacturing strategy that sets an intended direction for the Manufacturing Network to assure investments work in concert to alter the manufacturing cost curve. These individuals will require a unique conceptualization/problem solving abilities which forces multidisciplinary thought about problems rather than problem-solving specific hurdles. These individuals also will work closely with the Manufacturing Leadership Team to prioritize the cost disadvantaged business segments in need of regaining a low-cost leadership position. It’s through the evaluation, deployment, and seemingly paradoxical considerations of the Manufacturing Network that these cost disadvantaged segments will be repositioned to sustain cost advantages.

What's on the menu?

  • To define a manufacturing strategy as an intended direction which outlines the keys to attaining & retaining low-cost producer status and offers a driven differentiation.
  • Alter the boundaries of the existing manufacturing capabilities to offer efficient/rapid new product development with focus on mechanical, electrical or process system design or Network Footprint
  • Team members will act as resident experts within their field of expertise and provide guidance to the broader team on the strategic fit within the Manufacturing Network.
  • To define/direct stepwise cost reduction programs and/or projects across the Manufacturing Network within the respective focus areas.
  • Lifecycle Management - Own and lead the OT Obsolescence CAPEX project portfolio. Identify key projects within the zone that warrant operational technology upgrades to increase operability, efficiency, and security within the manufacturing plants.
  • Work with key engineering partners, local plant leadership and corporate CAPEX leadership teams in identifying, defining, and prioritizing obsolescence projects for the annual operation plan for funding and execution.
  • To identify and prioritize opportunities based on the business segment cost needs.
  • Guide/lead the execution teams through implementation to assure sustainable business results.
  • Liaison between Manufacturing and Business M&A activities
  • Monitor operations metrics and find opportunities to redefine metrics that better align behaviors with desired Business results.
  • Analysis of the Manufacturing Network leading to the creation, development, and implementation of strategic planning solidly anchored in achieving the low-cost leadership goal.
  • Provide in-depth data analysis that involves compiling and analyzing large data sets using statistical methods and optimization modeling tools, and presenting the results in a detailed and usable format that drives management decision-making.
  • Lead the creation, development, implementation of pivotal initiatives.
  • Conducts comparisons and applies benchmarking data to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Understands KHC’s product cost drivers and applies available tools to identify productivity "drill sites".
  • Support the Manufacturing Leadership Team in prioritizing & resolving current technical Manufacturing issues impacting cost.
  • Provide electrical/electronic technology guidance call knowledge and drive required changes regarding PLC’s, HMI’s, drives, controls, safety circuits and communications.
  • Deep electrical systems automation systems knowledge to steer the Network strategy for transformation projects.
  • Develop project design, scope, cost estimates and timelines for electrical automation systems that aid in transformation automation projects.
  • Creative electrical and controls mindset anchored in conceptual automation system solutions offering a step change in operational efficiency.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or related field/experience is required.
  • +10 years of manufacturing experience is required with the ability to articulate & implement new technologies and process designs.
  • Possess a deep understanding of Manufacturing KPIs.
  • Able to lead a team (matrix relationship) of Process Managers & highly technical individuals.
  • Able to influence senior leaders within the Manufacturing Leadership Team.
  • Able to facilitate highly technical statistical approaches to problem solving; gathering and analyzing Network data.
  • Able to provide mentoring and coaching to seasoned technical Leaders / professionals.
  • Act as the resident domain expert within their field.
