About the Role

Head of Marketing – Ready Meals is the key New Zealand based Marketing leadership role for the Kraft Heinz ANZ business. With Masterbrand responsibility for Wattie’s- you will continue building the love and legacy for this beloved kiwi icon; while also setting the strategy and direction for all the Ready Meals cluster’s market-leading brands such as Heinz- Kraft- F. Whitlock & Sons and Plant Proteinz for the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Leading and mentoring a team of Brand Marketers across ANZ- with responsibility for Kraft Heinz largest sales revenue cluster- categories span Baked Beans- Soup- Ambient and Frozen Meals- Fruit and Vegetables- and Infant foods. This role is integral to the ANZ Marketing Leadership Team and NZ Commercial Leadership team. With truly end-to-end marketing remit- driving innovation agenda and delivery- communication development- and in-market activity this role offers a strategic marketing leader the chance to both leave their mark and develop their career!

Key Responsibilities

Lead Ready Meals Brands and Categories -

  • Identify and develop consumer insights- and brand and category opportunities and value drivers.
  • Build long-term category and brand strategies and implement annual marketing plans.
  • Manage category innovation funnel and business case development.
  • Oversee creative brief- production- and channel selection for all communications.
  • Lead customer story development and all in-market activation for Australian and New Zealand retailers.

Wattie’s Masterbrand -

  • Wattie’s Masterbrand guardianship- ownership of brand development and communications.

Ensure Ready Meals Cluster Success -

  • Track and manage cluster and category sales revenue- profitability and market share in conjunction with Commercial Strategy team.
  • Track and manage cluster NPD progress from concept to market and develop plans to ensure successful execution.

Deliver Marketing budget -

  • Ensure proper costing of marketing activities and budget allocation.
  • Tracking of brand activities to ensure A&P ROI.
  • Manage the cluster and category budgets in line with ZBB.

Leadership of Ready Meals and broader cross-functional teams -

  • Lead and mentor the cluster marketing team to achieve the brand and category strategy and objectives.
  • Provide the right tools and training to understand business performance- and implement the business’ routines and rituals.
  • Provide NZ-based marketing leadership for NZ based marketing team and cross-functional commercial team.

About You

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree (Marketing- Communications- Business or similar).

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

  • Proven experience in leading marketing teams- with a solid background in the FMCG industry- but not necessarily in foods.

  • 10-15 years in brand management experience (Marketing role).

  • Proven experience in bringing new products to market.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage tight timelines.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make recommendations.
