About the Role

We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced NPD Innovation Project Manager.  This role will be working in the Marketing PMO Team and is critical to delivering projects identified within the category strategies -including Brand Expansion- Breakthrough- ESG- Artwork- & Renovation initiatives on some iconic Australian & New Zealand Brands (Heinz- Wattie’s Whitlock’s & Plant Protein).

You will have ownership over implementing new products from concept to commercialization and launch- working closely with local and regional cross-functional teams- including R&D- Marketing- Operations- Procurement- Planning- Category + Sales- Finance- Logistics & Legal – to move effectively through our Stage & Gate process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver innovation- ESG- supply chain- projects on-time-in-full- and in line with gate-keeping guidelines- including effective troubleshooting- issue management- risk management and escalation throughout project lifecycle.
  • Support + influence portfolio priorities at concept stage to reduce complexity through collaboration with R&D- Marketing + Commercial teams
  • Build effective project plans that integrate into the broader Innovation Program- to track adherence to project milestone delivery 
  • Manage project teams- stakeholder relationships & keep key sponsors informed on project requirements- progress + risks
  • Ability to navigate a problem- gather and synthesis relevant information to draw conclusions and build recommendations.
  • Effectively provide both verbally + written updates to project & PMO team and senior leadership teams on project status- risks + implications and proposed solutions.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business- Marketing- or related discipline
  • 2+ years proven Project Management / Innovation NPD / R&D experience
  • Formal Project Management training or qualifications is desirable
  • 2+ years’ experience in the Food Industry will be advantageous
  • Experience in NPD Stage Gate- Project Management methods- tool and processes
  • Understanding of MS Project- Service Now & Agile systems preferred
  • Strong communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Motivated- self-directed and detail oriented with a hands-on mentality to get things done.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously & to develop priorities for self and members of project team.
