Description & Requirements

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the execution and support of maintenance-oriented activities, which will achieve the desired results of Food Safety/Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety. This position will lead and direct the day-to-day activities of highly skilled maintenance employees to ensure that the proper plans; procedures and routines are carried out. This position is responsible to supervise scheduling and planning along with supervision of the CMMS (SAP).

Primary Role and Responsibilities

  • Administrate the Preventive Maintenance Program: releasing, printing, routing, and assigning PMs.
  • Updating PM’s and task list as needed. Updating and reviewing completed kits
  • Utilize SAP system to coordinate work orders, preventive maintenance processes, and support others in use of the work order system.
  • Manages PMs in area of responsibility for daily/weekly activities.
  • Prioritizes work through a defined protocol of process criticality and equipment redundancy.
  • Plans, Schedules and procures materials of maintenance for work performed in area of responsibility while maintaining budget.
  • Estimates total labor requirements on a job-by-job basis
  • Defines material and repair parts needed for all work requests
  • Balances issued work orders with labor availability and skills
  • Maintains and monitors a monthly backlog report
  • Coordinate staffing to ensure the highest level of departmental coverage and maintain appropriate shift crew level to meet staffing requirements.
  • Member of plant purchasing team for maintenance department which handles purchasing, receiving and training for other plant personnel.
  • Facilitate company strategies for MRO management by supervising the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Facilitate monthly reporting on performance against KPI measures.
  • Actively participates with the Plant Engineers, other Maintenance Supervisors, and Mechanics in the implementation of the maintenance continuous plan.
  • Communicate with supervisors and maintenance employees from other shifts to ensure equipment specific problems and needs are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform observations for both improved safety and quality as required.
  • Actively participates in tasks required to support QRMP.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

CONTACTS/ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The Maintenance Planner will report to the Maintenance Manager and be a primary resource to lead the plant maintenance process for the operational areas.  This position works directly with the maintenance employees, the Plant Leadership Team, and plant engineering resources to drive improvements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Additional Education/Certification/Skills: 

English Language Skills – Able to speak, read, and write

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years’ maintenance experience is preferred. 
  • Must have a strong mechanical background.
  • A working knowledge of SAP/PM 6.0 is preferred.
  • Must possess a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills in motivating, coaching and involvement concepts.
  • Must have capability to manage multiple priorities with a focus on delivery plant goals.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability in problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to generate solutions to plant equipment, process, packaging and operational problems
  • Must adhere to all Kraft Heinz Policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and follow internal Kraft Heinz Procedures.
