Description & Requirements

PURPOSE – The Maintenance Tech position will be responsible for maintaining- troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment to help ensure continuous plant operations and production requirements.

  • Has ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical controls- circuits- mechanical and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Has demonstrated knowledge of AC and DC electrical theory and functional understanding of 3 phase motor control circuits.
  • Has demonstrated ability and understanding of Allen Bradley PLCs- remote sensor interfaces- HMI- VFDs and other automated controls and can troubleshoot same.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs to all manufacturing and facility equipment and systems
  • Performs preventive maintenance activities on production- processing and plant equipment and systems.
  • Has knowledge of predictive practices such as thermography- vibration analysis- and acoustical analysis. 
  • Order parts as necessary.
  • Able to follow directions and work unsupervised at times.
  • Experience with fork lift- boom lift and scissor lift operation.
  • Familiar with Microsoft office programs such as Word- Excel and Outlook.
  • Accurately fills out all required paperwork.
  • Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and shift flexibility.
  • Operates equipment and works safely- follows all GMP guidelines and keeps work area clean.
  •  Participates in meetings and trains others
  •  Can operate simple shop equipment. (i.e.- drills- saws- grinders- and sanders)
  •  Fills in for other positions as necessary.
  • Supports the Jacksonville plant FSQ and QRMP initiatives on any and all procedures/programs pertaining to product safety.
  • Additional responsibilities of this position include assisting in the creation of a culture of safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor.  Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position
  • Other duties as assigned


  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • High School or GED required- Technical Certificate or Associate degree preferred
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have own hand tools to perform all job duties
