Description & Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plays a leadership role in setting marketing objectives- strategies and business principles by providing guidance to business team in identifying and articulating key business issues and knowledge gaps- and in finding opportunities for the assigned brands with a consumer first lens.
  • Translate foodservice trends into insights to use for customer/brand/innovation presentations.
  • Become proficient with NPD syndicated category data used to develop actionable insights for category strategies
  • Become proficient in Technomic and Datassential platforms
  • Take complex data from multiple sources and develop actionable results
  • Create engaging presentations and be able to clearly explain and defend complex analysis- recommendations- and alternatives not chosen
  • Constantly innovate and push our thinking on how to offer best-in-class solutions
  • Identifying new Insight methods or ‘ways of working’ opportunities to drive better consumer understanding within our marketing organization
  • Experience of data synthesis (quant and qual and multiple data sources) to provide insightful meaning and perspective beyond the obvious- whilst also being highly numerate.
  • Manages activities of research suppliers. Sets high standards- provides on-going feedback.  Appropriately questions and challenges suppliers to ensure best thinking and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years marketing research experience in increasingly responsible positions

  • Hard Skills and Capabilities:
  • An experienced insights leader with established track record in consumer insights (ad hoc)-from within consumer / foodservice / retail industries on the client side or with research agencies
  • Highly proficient and experienced consumer research professional displaying a range and depth of knowledge/application skills- including key ad hoc research methods (qualitative and quantitative methods to drive consumer understanding and aid business decision making). Experience of data synthesis (quant and qual and multiple data sources) to provide insightful meaning and perspective beyond the obvious- whilst also being highly numerate.
  • Flexible: Be flexible and creative to adjust to changing priorities and business challenges.  Deal with ambiguity- while showing strong drive for results. Highly adaptable- works well in an environment of change
  • Strong Communicator: Showcase strong communication skills through distilled clean/concise insights that drive empathy and storytelling behaviors.  Comfortable presenting and collaborating with people remotely and/or virtually
  • Self-motivated: Ability to handle many workstreams and competing priorities
  • Analytical: Ability to see through data and recognize patterns to inform brand actions
  • Collaborator: Team player- works well in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Curiosity & Action: Have intellectual curiosity and creative insight- coupled with a drive for actionable- tangible results
  • Project management skills - Time management has no secrets for you. You’re organized- structured and always have an overview of all the deliverables. You know how to bring multiple projects to a successful ending within the given timeframe
