About the Position

We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Engineer Manager to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. The Engineering Manager sits in Elst as part of the Western Europe Supply Chain Organisation. You’ll be working in a high performing team- alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You’ll be reporting into Site Manager Elst. Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal senior stakeholders. The delivery of results will be your primary responsibility. You’re constantly looking for improvement activities within Elst.

In brief- you will be responsible for:

  • To manage- lead and motivate the engineering team to ensure they reach their full potential on a continues improvement environment.
  • To ensure compliance with the engineering and financial standard of the company.
  • To manage the site’s capex budget to achieve the objectives Year on Year.
  • As Engineering Manager ensure the compliance with the capex plan for the factory- managing the resources in order to maximize the number of projects to implement in a proper manner from Safety- FSQ- budget and performance point of view following the company and engineering KHMS standards.
  • Own and lead the CAPEX multiyear masterplan for the site to make sure we continuously improve across the board together with the departments
  • Ensure a correct and complete project handover from engineering perspective to the rest of the departments in the factory
  • This duties may involve miscellaneous functions such as analysing- investigating and preparing facilities studies relative to plant areas- machinery and equipment cost and recommending proper machines to be purchased.
  • Manage- lead and support capital projects as a leader or member of a multi-functional team.
  • Apply CAR and Heinz standards- procedures and guidelines in capital projects to deliver projects objectives (scope- time- cost) with full control of risk (ORM and Quality).
  • Knowledge expert for Sauces processes- technology and equipment and associated drivers of costs.
  • To work within project teams to provide manufacturing/ engineering expertise.
  • To keep abreast of development in food engineering and technology.
  • To carry out feasibility studies on manufacturing- operational improvement- etc.
  • Collect the forecast of all Capital Projects- adjust it and charge into 4Site
  • Make the Purchase Orders of all the Capital Projects in SRM
  • Update the functional location/equipment structure in SAP

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead team of ~10 engineering project managers
  • Prepare and execute or coordinate all capital projects
  • Contact with external and internal capital project customers
  • Liase with suppliers to support the development of capital engineering designs.
  • Capital project cost estimation and cost control
  • Quantification of capital project deliverables
  • Project planning using MS project
  • Liaise with R&D- QA- EHS and Operations to align the project with the functional demands.
  • Support development of NPD projects.
  • Manage CAR preparation and approval
  • Execution of projects: delivery to cost- time and scope with performance targets
  • Delivery of cash flow forecast/targets
  • Support start up activities
  • Support ramp up plan on new lines
  • Ensure post project evaluations are carried out

  • Education
    • Food Technology/Engineering Degree (University-Mechanical/Process)
  • Work Experience
    • Relevant work experience for at least 5 years in food capital engineering
  • Knowledge
    • PC software packages- Excel- Word & PowerPoint
  • Language Knowledge
    • Able to communicate fluently in English (both written and spoken) and Dutch (both written and spoken)
