Description & Requirements

Responsible for ensuring end to end management of materials and related operations for the entire Northgate site. A key role in our site leader team, responsible for providing leadership in the implementation of process improvement initiatives (such as the Kraft Heinz Management System) and promoting a performance-based culture that encourages continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Align Crop intake and supply to meet demand requirements and liaise with the Crops & Concentrates Procurement Specialist regarding implementation.
  • Ensure performance management of growers.
  • Participate in KHMS (continuous improvement) activities for the Northgate site to support manufacturing supply chain optimisation and a sustainable raw fruit supply chain.
  • Facilitate crop supply payments in line with business terms and approved pricing from Procurement.
  • Develop and implement effective materials planning strategies, ensuring the availability of necessary materials to support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Procurement, and Logistics to align materials planning with overall business objectives.
  • Analyse demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity to develop accurate production schedules.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize working capital while meeting production requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to quality, quantity, or lead times.
  • Utilize materials planning software systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, material requirements, and procurement activities.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, providing guidance and support to a team of direct reports.
  • Supervise and manage the performance of two Materials Controllers, one Production Scheduler, one Materials Scheduler and one Agricultural Lead
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Foster effective communication and coordination within the team and across departments to ensure seamless materials flow and production scheduling.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements related to materials planning and production scheduling.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Effective leadership and team management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proficient in using materials planning software systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in materials planning, production scheduling, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
