Description & Requirements

Under direction of the Senior Compensation Manager for Operations- the Compensation Manager will be responsible for providing guidance and consultation to HR Business Partners and Operations Leadership on job evaluation- compensation benchmarking- offer development- and FLSA classification. The role will be primarily passionate about providing compensation mentorship for Kraft Heinz’s 30+ plant locations across the US and Canada for hourly and salaried employees. This is an analytical role that seamlessly transitions to operating in areas of ambiguity and strategic complexity. Candidates must have a versatile profile of both qualitative and quantitative skills.

Key Components of the Role

  • Independently serve as the internal consultant for the Operations division- with a specific focus on the plants in North America
  • Lead projects and initiatives to build consistent hourly compensation structures and processes for the NA plant footprint
  • Partner with labor relations and plant human resources by providing compensation intelligence and insights for union negotiations and general wage increase decisions
  • Lead elements of the annual compensation processes- including salary planning- incentive and bonus plans- and championships
  • Propose process improvements and recommend policy changes to assure compliance and competitiveness of Kraft Heinz compensation
  • Conduct trainings and build supporting tools in key aspects of North America Compensation for HRBPs and business leaders
  • Handle the participation in salary surveys and develop recommendations based on survey results that are aligned with corporate strategy
  • Maintain knowledge of external market trends- developments- and standard methodologies in direct compensation
  • Lead all aspects of internal and external audits of compensation related matters


  • Strong technical knowledge of compensation theories and principles- compensation program design- and applicable laws and regulations in the US and/or Canada
  • Ability to effectively connect with both external and internal business partners in a matrix environment
  • Ability to lead projects and influence team members without direct managerial authority
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
  • Workday experience and Lightcast- or similar labor market analytic tools preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required with typically- a minimum of 4 – 7 years of compensation experience- with a strong preference for experience with hourly manufacturing populations and/or union negotiations
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or other HR certification preferred
