PURPOSE – The Safety Coordinator coordinates- executes- and continuously improves upon overall Safety and Environmental management programs in conjunction with the ORM manager and plant management.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –

• Adhere to Safety/Environmental/Quality/Production policies and procedures
• Knowledge of ORM required functions and compliance activities (Environmental- OSHA- Worker’s Compensation- etc.)
• Conduct and assist the completion of Safety and Environmental Audits
• Work with all departments to meet plant safety and environmental goals
• Support the implementation of policies and programs
• Assist in accident and special situations investigations
• Advice and lead employees on various safety related topics
• Prepare SOP- OPL’s and set up training for plant
• Tracks training and provides updates on completion
• Maintain and update corrective actions in different trackers
• Work with HR to set up Safety training for new employee orientation
• Assist with Risk assessments
• Prepare Safety training and Safety Committee meetings presentations
• Familiarize with KHMS concepts and requirements related to ORM
• Manage- purchase- and organize Safety PPE and other plant supplies
• Monitor safety compliance through Gemba walks
• Maintain SDS data base
• Supports Environmental programs; WW- SPCC- Storm Water- HMBPP- Air and Waste Management
• Familiarize with systems and web sites; Intelex- KHMS- NorthStar- CERS- SMARTS- RMP3- Pas-Portal-
• Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPENTENCIES –

Min of 1 year Manufacturing experience preferred Safety Awareness – Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety. Adaptability – Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures- processes- requirements- or cultures.
