Description & Requirements

The PMO Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing project management methodologies- standards- tools and continuous improvement processes across the organization within the US Zone to ensure key projects and strategic initiatives are successfully delivered.

As the leader of the PMO- you will establish a project and program governance framework to ensure a structured and consistent approach to all major and key capital projects within the US zone project portfolio and transformational initiatives.

You will guide the team in establishing best practices for working quickly and flexibly- and you will share these principles across the organization to help project teams improve their own change management abilities and inspire team members to embrace change & innovation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the Capital Investment Strategic Plan for Capacity- Innovation and Cost Improvement projects – a 5-year prioritized investment plan enabling Kraft Heinz commercial growth ambitions.
  • Support Feasibilities Studies for major Capex investments for Capacity- Innovation and Cost Improvement- across the US Zone- working closely with S&OP- Supply Chain Development- R&D and FS&Q.
  • Work cross-functionally through a high-level of collaboration with various departments and levels- constantly align PMO strategies and processes with the US zone`s current and future priorities and objectives.
  • Participate and provide support to project leads and engineers as requested during project planning for key and large-scale growth projects.
  • Provide an integrative view and analysis of the various project aspects within the key projects to enable better decisions making.
  • Participate in cross functional technical Peer Reviews to ensure key growth Capital projects (>$10MM) within the US Zone are designed to maintain business continuity- maximize operating income and factory efficiency- including the evaluation of: alternative options- cost estimation and timelines together with the cross-functional team- Business- R&D and FS&Q.
  • Define and maintain KPI’s and metrics to track and monitor performance.
  • Develop and deliver effective tracking- reporting- and communication tools to provide business unit and leadership meaningful key progress results and project status updates.
  • Pro-actively anticipate and manage project risks and issues and ensure that appropriate mitigation planning is in place across the key projects.
  • Ensure accurate utilization and generation of data insights- empowering project teams to make data-driven informed decisions.
  • Establish operational excellence training to educate and promote a culture of continuous improvement in the organization.
  • Provide guidance to the project teams and other stakeholders on project management methodology- governance- best practices and the use of templates- standard reports and tools.
  • Share benchmarking of common equipment or processes and Capital projects across the US Zone.
  • Identify and evaluate Best Available Technologies- preferred suppliers and engineering practices- sharing them across the US Zone- and globally where appropriate. With the aim of delivering projects in a more consistent and expedient manner.
  • Support program and project governance - perform project audits and reviews and extract lessons-learned.
  • Manage major change requests and learnings from key growth projects and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school or related field is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience with a track record of managing a portfolio of cross-functional projects.
  • Able to use experience and judgement to appropriately identify and effectively manage risks and develop contingency plans to resolve.
  • Exceptional program management skills to lead end-to-end partnership delivery across key projects.
  • Exceptional organization- communication- and time management skills. Ability and comfort with routinely communicating with project owners and executive sponsor regarding project/program status.
  • Ability to influence- working on and with technical and cross-functional or highly matrixed teams who do not report into this role to get things done.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with heavy emphasis on teamwork.
  • Extensive experience with project and program management- methods and techniques- including but not limited to waterfall- agile- and scrum approaches.
  • Experience leading projects using agile methodology is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
