As a Packaging Technologist- you will have the opportunity to initiate and lead packaging related projects for the purpose of NPD- cost reduction- sustainability- quality or process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake the packaging research and development of new and existing products and processes to enable the company to meet its marketing and production objectives.
  • Support Head of R&D as key link to packaging suppliers and to keep abreast of developments in industry and marketplace.
  • Respond and provide technical support in resolving packaging related quality issues within the factories and marketplace.
  • Ensure that packaging specifications within the area of responsibility are kept relevant and accurate
  • Work with our suppliers to produce the best outcomes in terms of packaging performance- cost and innovation
  • Creating packaging designs which are compliant with the Australian Packaging Covenant and the New Zealand Packaging Stewardship Scheme

About You

  • Degree in Science- Technology or Engineering
  • Qualification in Packaging Technology
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an FMCG company in a packaging or technical related field
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials- canning- bottle- glass and pouch materials and processes
  • Understand the role packaging plays in food safety- shelf life- food interaction- transit and customer/consumer requirements
