Description & Requirements

We're looking for an experienced Payroll professional to make a difference at Kraft Heinz in an important role – Associate Manager- Payroll HTR (Netherlands- Belgium & Germany). The role sits within the Global Business Services (GBS) function- serving key markets in the International Zone. You’ll be working in a hard-working team- alongside peers always trying to reach the next level- reporting to the Senior Manager- Global Business Services EU Hire to Retire.

Your main responsibility will be to drive payroll process in the Netherlands- Belgium- and Germany with our payroll providers and continually improve the processes outsourced to GBS- including payroll and employee data management. You will also be responsible for supporting us in implementing the agenda for transformation- putting employee and business partner’s experience firmly in the centre of what we do. You will be supported in delivery by 3rd party provider staff across Bucharest and Bangalore.

Main Responsibilities

Payroll process and execution excellence

  • Manage the internal and 3rd party teams/providers to process payroll- maintaining compliance with internal policies- legal regulations- and execution playbooks
  • Audit the quality of work across applicable processes and drive corrective actions
  • Check and approve payroll reports prepared by GBS team
  • Reconcile the payroll processed to the financial accounting systems including payments
  • Liaise with all relevant authorities and regulatory bodies- including tax authorities on payroll related matters- ensuring the completeness and accuracy of filing requirements
  • Ensure accuracy of employee data and payroll elements such as deductions- pensions- taxes- bonuses- allowances- RSUs- etc.
  • Develop- manage- and coach members of the Hire to Retire team to ensure they have the appropriate skills- knowledge- and training to better serve our HR business partners and employees
  • Work closely alongside our HR analysts- HRBPs and HR Heads to facilitate the resolution of key payroll issues in the delivery of our services and ensure long term resolution
  • Feed into and deliver against the continual improvement agenda to implement best-practice and standardization- both in the business and with our partners
  • Champion the “GBS” brand in the business by acting as a subject matter expert- addressing all payroll related queries of HR team and employees


  • Feed into the transformation agenda by exercising disruptive thought to challenge the status quo
  • Provide customer centric viewpoint on how we should operate- and consider how we can improve the experiences of our employees and our HR business partners
  • Challenge our existing capabilities: digitally- robotic process automation- data delivery etc to further drive long term sustainable efficiencies

Generation of business value:

  • Execute actions to close gaps in our efficiency and service versus benchmark data and best-practice
  • Utilise PDCA methodology to approach the opportunities- coming up with clear action plans to address the root causes identified and unlock value
  • Partner with the business to present meaningful solutions for key business issues in Europe

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in accounting- business- or HR related degree
  • Passion – Customer centric delivery and CPG companies
  • IT – Knowledge of Human Resource systems and landscapes- including Workday- Kronos and ServiceNow
  • Work Experience & Knowledge:
    • 3+ years of Payroll experience
    • Understanding of the end-to-end payroll process
    • Extensive knowledge of local labour legislation (Netherlands- Belgium & Germany)
    • Propensity to manage 3rd party vendor relationships- including shared services and payroll providers
    • Ability to drive process excellence and delivery – agile / design thinking / six sigma methodology experience desired
    • Experience of running payroll provider transitio
    • Learning agility to adapt to rapidly evolving landscapes across technology- people delivery models and process & policy change
    • Experience in working with internal & external control frameworks and auditors
  • Language Knowledge – English- fluent; Dutch – as an advantage
