The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Quality Technicians to work at our sauces, and pickles processing facility in Holland, MI.  Successful candidates must be willing to contribute improvements suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work in a team orientated, fast paced work environment. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to stand during an 8 to 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Candidates must be available to work all shifts including second or third and holidays

Plant Overview:

  • Approximately 300 employees
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities- assigned based on business needs and seniority
  • Union Plant, represented by UFCW Local 705
  • Products: Vinegar, BBQ Sauces, Relish, Pickles, Mustard
  • The Holland plant is one of the oldest plants in the company and has been operating since 1897. Although, locally known as the “pickle factory”, currently pickles only make up 5% of the total production. In 2016 the factory installed grey poupon mills to allow the production of its iconic mustard.

Job Overview:

To accurately evaluate product characteristics during manufacturing to assure compliance with designed manufacturing parameters. Take appropriate, timely action when product is not in compliance.

Vacuum gauge, headspace ruler, blender, refractometer, burettes, pipettes, pH meter, dilute acid and basic solutions, various scales, centrifuge, colorimeters, spec. 20, turbidimeter, various forms & charts, sieves assorted lab glassware, various chemical reagents, process & line sheets, torque meters, quantifier, and thermometers. Product Samples.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Obtain product samples and prepare for various test and reviews.
  • Acquire and properly store Quality Assurance samples.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Prepare barcode scanners for production lines at the beginning of every shift or line startup
  • Perform hourly glass audits on relevant production areas
  • Assist in troubleshooting as applicable when nonconformances are identified
  • Conduct glass inspections after breakage incidents on the lines
  • Verify Xray functionality bi-hourly on all applicable lines
  • Review Xray reject images for potential contaminants as necessary
  • Conduct hourly finished goods inspections including verification of proper codes and proper materials usage (bottle/cap/sleeve/etc.)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the pickle, vinegar, and juice manufacturing operations.
  • Set up and perform organoleptic reviews as required.
  • Perform any other duty as required by supervisor or lead person.
  • Perform daily analytical prechecks and make recipe adjustments when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records.
