Description & Requirements

Summary: Under the direction of the Quality Department and in cooperation with the Operations, a Quality Assurance Technician will learn and use product acceptability standards, equipment capabilities, and safety expectations to execute a robust schedule of Quality Assurance checks.  Additionally, the QA Tech will communicate to appropriate personnel and initiate corrective action when results or conditions deviate from expectations.

Hours:

Fri-Sun 3:30pm to 2:30 am

Responsibilities:

Completing and recording Quality checks on several lines at the specified frequency. Completing paperwork as necessary.

Ensuring all Quality checks are completed accurately and on time to ensure government regulations are met.

Verifying scales are accurate and following up to have them repaired or recalibrated as needed.

Verifying metal detectors are operating correctly and following up to have them repaired or recalibrated as needed.

Communication to all appropriate personnel regarding checks that are out of spec and initiate corrective action.

Aiding in the training of new employees to Quality Suite.

Filling in for other Quality Assurance Technicians for planned and unplanned relief.

Being thoroughly versed on all matters pertaining to Safety, Department and Plant.

Shifting schedule to accommodate in the shift start times to best cover normal line running hours

Requirements:

Proficiency with using computers to correctly and efficiently record results

Ability to learn and apply product acceptability standards

Ability to walk and stand for the full duration of the shift

Ability to work all required overtime

Ability to maintain accuracy and sense of urgency for each required check.

Ability to work independently to maintain testing schedule

Ability to communicate effectively when issues are discovered

Ability to work in refrigerated work environment

Ability to lift and carry up to 12 pounds
