Description & Requirements

About the Role:

The R&D Technician & Pilot Plant Support will support the R&D Technologist to deliver NPD- product improvement- value engineering and ingredient shortfall projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample preparation - batching of ingredients- preparation- cooking and sterilisation of product samples in the R&D kitchen
  • Ingredient and packaging sample collection and control through maintaining control of R&D ingredients and ensuring ingredients are within shelf life
  • Maintaining the calibration scheduling of all laboratory and pilot plant equipment
  • Labelling- packaging- completing documentation and sending samples to internal and external customers

About You:

  • Clean Driver's Licence
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of equipment particularly sterilisation equipment and cooking equipment
  • Experience with product quality testing- recording and basic interpretation of results
  • High level of interpersonal skills- verbal- and written communication
  • Excellent time management & planning skills
  • Well organised and familiar with 5S organisation methods
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Understand and interpretation of process instructions (recipes- thermal process instructions etc.) and product specification information
  • Use of key systems including BPCS- recipe reporting.
  • Basic use of Microsoft office
