Description & Requirements

Workstream: Sugar reduction in infant biscuits

During your assignment you will be part of the R&D First Food team. You’ll be working in a high performing team- alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. As an integrated team member- we welcome you to take part in the team’s activities such as team & category meetings- which will give you a real feel for the company and the business. Your primary responsibility will be to do a deep dive into the role of sugar in infant biscuits baking technology- focusing on sugar reduction.    
 
Project brief 


In brief- you will be responsible for the technology platform activities on sugar reduction in biscuits- and resulting new product development projects.  

Key activities  

  • Literature research; study the technological role of sugar in biscuits- and find sugar alternatives suitable for infant biscuits
  • Benchmark studies
  • Prototype recipes 
  • Pilot plant work; test potential sugar reduction solutions and find the best (combination of) ingredients to replace sugar
  • Sensory evaluations 
  • Report on results & recommendations; Presenting results to key stakeholders like marketing

 
Internship Requirements 

  • Currently following a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Technology 
  • Strong English verbal and writing skills (level C1)
  • Must be a creative mind and have a passion for food  
  • Must maintain student status for the duration of the internship placement (50% workload)
  • Must have EU work authorization 
  • Available from October-March 2021
