Description & Requirements

To undertake the research and development of new and existing products and processes to enable the company to meet its marketing and production objectives. This role will be a 12-month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and improve new and existing products and processes focusing on time- quality and cost expectations- this includes:

  • Project feasibility

  • Prototype development

  • New ingredient evaluation

  • Establishing production methods

  • Setting up of factory documentation

  • Supervision of factory trials and commercial production

  • Development of technical product information including BOMs- production methods- label information- ingredient specifications- product specifications and shelf-life evaluation

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Process- Chemical or Mechanical) Food Technology/Science.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Research and Development in the Food industry.

  • Familiarity with and ability to work within manufacturing and Pilot Plant environment.

  • Computer skills including Excel- Word- Project Management tools- PowerPoint and key board skills.

  • Understanding of the FSANZ Food Standards code- AFGC and food labelling requirements. 

  • Understanding of interactions between ingredients- additives- recipes- processes and packaging types.
