About the role

As a R&D Technologist- you will be responsible for consumer centric Research & Development on new and established meal products and processes to meet the business objectives.

  • Development of new and renovation of existing products and processes to deliver NPD- cost saving and quality improvement projects.
  • Includes activities such as feasibility assessments- prototype development- costing- supervision of factory trials- development of recipe and factory documentation- recipe and label development- technical approval- shelf life assessment and technical support for initial factory production
  • Provides technical leadership to drive project completion and adherence to business process in partnership with Marketing and other functions.
  • Influence and drive growth and cost-saving opportunities for relevant business categories using strong commercial acumen and specific category knowledge.
  • Stay abreast of all relevant nutrition guidelines

This position is based at our R&D facility in King Street- Hastings

About you

  • You will have a Tertiary qualification in relevant science/engineering field- preferably Food Technology.
  • Relevant experience and background in either product development- process improvement or quality. Ideally within a food manufacturing environment
  • You’ll be a natural at engaging and partnering with the business with the ability to work cross-functionally with ease
  • Organised and pro-active in your approach to work- your character is one that sees solutions not problems.
  • The ability to “make it happen” – from the planning to job completion including all the paperwork.
  • You’ll have a strong analytical capability with a passion for manipulating data
  • You’ll have a high attention to detail with a natural curiosity to asking questions
