Description & Requirements

The regulatory affairs coordinator for innovation and compliance/advocacy in Mexico is responsible for ensuring and meeting the regulatory compliance of the current portfolio and innovation/renovation/ESG/Productivity projects. As well as the regulatory validation of ingredients- packaging- product- formulas to ensure the implementation and compliance of current legislation and for both local regulatory changes and for the countries to which products are imported.

  • Formula Regulatory assessment
  • Approval of labelling texts and external certification UVA – 2022.
  • Propose new claims according to legislation lists.
  • Assume leadership on new legislation themes according to our pipeline.
  • Defend Kraft Heinz’s strategies at Trade Associations.
  • Unlock regulatory barriers for innovations/ proactive work at Regulatory framework (ex: use of natural extracts as antioxidants).
  • Responsible for IMPEX formula evaluation.
  • FUP and contribution to Regulatory Agencies agenda according to KHC strategy – product-oriented.
  • Defend KHC strategy at CODEX Alimentarius LATAM committee (GT Food labelling- GT Food Additives).
  • Drive with full compliance the portfolio of products.
  • Develop regulatory flows for the company.
  • Improve the service level for communication- press releases- and campaign materials.
  • Focal point for regulatory tasks at Project NOW (Project management systems).
  • Approve communication- press releases- and campaign materials.
  • Organize regulatory tasks for raw materials- packaging- and final products in Agile/SAP.
  • Update and review raw material specifications according to a regulatory assessment.
  • Improve raw material and Packaging specification regulatory data.
  • Support Legal/FSQ and R&D on sanitary/regulatory surveillance compliance and defenses.
  • Validate and approve claims and communication.

Requirements:

  • Food engineer/chemist- biochemical engineer- biotechnologist or similar.
  • At least 3 years of experience with: product and process development- sensory evaluation- value improvement (efficiencies in product and process)- regulatory compliance and label development and- consumer tests.
  • Advanced English required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office- knowledge of SAP and agile.
  • Problem-solving with a growth mindset and ability to work in teams and networks.
  • Proactive and self-driven.
