Description & Requirements

Objective:

  • Ensure the regulatory compliance of our finished products- formulations- pack- labels- and ingredients in Latin America and Hispanic countries.
  • Be the contact point for Mexico- Costa Rica- Venezuela- and Chile with local regulatory Authorities.
  • Ensure the register process compliance among exportation countries- leading the coordinator to work with main stakeholders.
  • Advise R&D and Marketing leadership Teams about food legislation changes- appointing the impacts in our KHC portfolio- and relative roadmap to adaptation.
  • As an Expert on food labeling and regulatory compliance you will be the ‘legal gatekeeper’ when it comes to recipes- artwork- marketing outings- images and packaging to guarantee regulatory compliance.

Key Activities/ Deliverables:

  •  Provide technical expertise in all regulated fields affecting products and marketability (food law- nutrition requirements- labeling and packaging);
  • In charge of the regulatory compliance as the regulated landscape in Latin America Hispanic countries;
  • Regulatory environment monitoring and communication KHC´s main stakeholders regarding the scenario-  strategic view to advocate KHC interests and prevent and mitigate negative impacts and negative surprises;
  • Administrating of Product sanitary registrations including importation- exportation and local commercialization/distribution to analyze normative/regulatory impact- risk assessment and scenarios- as well as the monitoring of the main governmental discussions on the sector it represents- defining the action strategy and the best way to communicate with regulatory bodies. Thus- more and more- the professional assumes a strategic position in decision making- always based on risk assessment;
  • Be the final approver for nutrition facts and ingredient lists in new label development- ensuring and reviewing all product labels used comply with each country’s legislation- government guidelines and Company policies;
  • To approve ingredient specifications for legislation and support other requests for information relating to labelling;
  • Accountable for the guidance of the regulatory changes in food regulation (products- SKU´s and packaging) and for the for the implementation with the main stakeholders (R&D- Marketing- Food Safety) for local production and also for Import and export business in each Latam Market;
  • Administrating of Products sanitary registrations including importation- exportation and local commercialization/distribution;
  • To support Marketing- R&D and Quality by providing advice for labelling and related legislation issues;
  • Identify opportunities to KHC as a strategic partner in the regulatory field;
  • Interactions and advocacy of KHC interests with Associations- Trade Associations and Regulatory Entities aligned and in partnership with internal stakeholders;
  • Manage gap analysis of portfolio vs. global guidelines and for the communication and alignment for implementation needs;
  • Lead regulatory training development for R&D- Marketing and Legal;
  • To approve advertising copy and external communications to ensure they are not misleading and conform to legislation;
  • Ensure business sustainability within the KHC values and commitments.

  • Ability to work with multiple projects;
  • Presentation and spreadsheet skills (.ppt/excel must have- SAP desirable);
  • Attention to detail is essential;

  • Good project management skills;
  • Resilience to perform in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong communication skills: managing stakeholders- convincing- informing- inquiring- negotiating.
