Description & Requirements

The primary responsibility of the Manager- Sales Communication and Industry Relations (IR) is to support the execution of the sales and marketing effectiveness strategy and plan to enable sales professionals to succeed at each stage of the customer’s buying process.  This position works directly with the Head of Strategic Planning- Sales Communication and IR- to inform and inspire the sales organization to grow customer business on the right terms in the right timeframe.  The Specialist will support the execution of company-wide initiatives- and engagement campaigns to the sales organization- identifying opportunities for improvement as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Engages with executive leadership across multiple functions to build communication plans to help shape the narrative related to events impacting the business.
  • Supports executive leadership with event planning and works with external agency partners on creative.
  • Owns coordination and supports in the US Zone annual Sales conference
  • Represent Sales to continuously strengthen the reputation of the function and ensure key updates are shared two-way. Lead the partnership with the North America Zone Communications team and all functional Communication Leads for ongoing alignment and to ensure effective delivery of Sales communications.
  • Leads building engagement across the sales organization by facilitating connection points and establishing a funnel of questions and answers across all layers of the sales organization.
  • Own the Sales brand and bring its story to life inside and outside of the organization by showcasing initiatives- people- and clearly messaging the value of Sales to the company. Create internal and external facing content to promote understanding and engagement around the Sales vision- mission- and key goals.
  • Run Sales Communications routines- including but not limited to: weekly reports- monthly live connects- and other communications. Draft and manage ad hoc communications- including pricing announcements and customer letters.
  • Assist in management of association and industry relationships- serving as point of contact for event planning and memberships.
  • Handle participation of the Sales organization in various industry events and conferences- including samples orders- registrations- and other logistical pieces.
  • Attends select industry association events as point of contact for Kraft Heinz employees and vendor coordination.
  • Develop and continuously evolve the Sales communications strategy with input from leaders and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Manage executive communications on behalf of the Sales Leadership- specifically the Chief Sales Officer- as needed.
  • Manage vendor/agency relationships with communication- industry relations- or branding needs.
  • Continuous improvement and identification of new methods of communications and delivery of materials.
  • Maintains a keen awareness of industry landscape and trends affecting the business.


  • 5+ years in strategic communications-related experience and management
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university- preferably in communications- journalism- or another related field
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills- preferably with executive exposure
  • Experience managing vendor relationships with PR and show services agencies
  • Strong business acumen- with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills required
  • Ability to build cross functional communications network at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to present to senior leadership and large townhall audiences
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Experience prioritizing and executing in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail
  • Limited travel based on industry event needs
