PAY RATE: $20.75/HR

Shift Differential for 3rd: $0.40

Retention Bonus: $750

PURPOSE -

Responsible for the overall sanitation of the Processing and Production areas according to established procedures, & standards and for the overall cleanliness of the entire building; operates CIP Systems, disassembles, sanitizes machines and other equipment as required and reassembles all equipment and machinery for production runs; cleans and maintains other areas of the building; other duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES – List the activities you perform on a regular basis.  Identify the major end result your position is expected to achieve for each of these activities.

Functions-Packaging:   

Obtains Work Instruction from Lead or Supervisor and cleans packaging machines, lines, pumps, pipes, floors, walls, and other areas and types of equipment and parts as necessary. Re-assembles packaging machines per Work Instructions. Dismantles hoses, connections, clamps, pumps, lines, or pipes and cleans per Work Instructions. Utilizes and maintains C.O.P. Tank per Work Instructions. Operates foaming equipment and high pressure washing systems according to Work Instructions. Dismantles and re-assembles food processing systems per Standard Operating Procedures. Handles cleaning chemicals according to MSDS and safe handling procedures. Utilizes push broom to sweep floors and remove standing water. Cleans debris from floor areas and disposes of properly, utilizing cleaned trash containers. Re-assembles equipment, piping, pumps, connections, and systems according to Production schedule needs. Prepares packaging machines, stockpots, and other components, such as Metal Detectors, as necessary for Production needs. Performs routine maintenance, such as gasket and o-ring replacement, pump seals, lubrication of parts and fitting replacement. Cleans assigned areas by collecting trash, including boxes, plastic, packets, damaged materials, damaged skids, bag ties, and other items and disposes of properly.  This includes cleaning other areas as assigned. Replaces and handles all chemicals and chemical drums safely. Safely moves pallets or other equipment with the use of material handling equipment. Attends Department and Plant meetings. Cross trains in other Sanitation Department areas. Performs other duties as assigned.

Functions-CIP:   

Obtains Work Instructions from Lead or Supervisor and cleans/CIP's kettles, tanks, lines, pumps, pipes, floors, walls, and other areas and types of equipment as assigned. Utilizes computerized "Clean in Place" (C.I.P.) Systems by making necessary connections and operating computerized controllers, ensuring the quality of clean of systems CIP's. Ensures proper function of C.I.P. System supporting quality of clean via proper flow rate, chemical concentration, cycle time, and temperature. Dismantles hoses, connections, clamps, pumps, lines, or pipes and cleans per Work Instruction and re-assembles. Operates foaming equipment and high pressure washing systems according to Work Instruction. Dismantles and re-assembles food processing systems per Standard Operating Procedures. Handles cleaning chemicals, according to MSDS and Safe Handling Procedures. Utilizes push broom to sweep floors and remove standing water. Cleans debris from floor areas and disposes of properly. Re-assembles equipment, piping, pumps, connections, and systems according to Production Schedule needs. Prepares tanks, hoppers, kettles, and other components necessary for Processing or Production needs. Performs routine maintenance, such as gasket replacement, pump seals, lubrication of parts, and fitting replacement. Cleans assigned areas by collecting trash, including boxes, plastic, packets, damaged materials, damaged skids, bag ties, and other items and disposes of properly.  Includes cleaning other areas as assigned. Replaces chemical drums safely when necessary. Safely moves pallets or other equipment with the use of material handling equipment. Attends Department and Plant meetings. Operates all equipment in a safe manner following GMP and Plant Safety guidelines, keeping work area audit ready. Cross trains in other Sanitation Department areas. Other duties as assigned.

38. Operates equipment in a safe manner following GMP guidelines and keeps work area clean.

39. Participates in meetings.

40. Trains others.

41. Fills in for other positions as necessary.

42. Perform Master Sanitation Duties on a regular and/or as needed basis.

43. Supports the Jacksonville plant FSQ and QRMP initiatives on any and all procedures/programs pertaining to product safety.

44. Additional responsibilities of this position include assisting in the creation of a culture of   safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor.  Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES-  

Minimum of six months experience in the food industry and/or sanitation.

Knowledge of all production activities and equipment and working knowledge of quality standards for all products to ensure the safety and quality levels of the finished products.

Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.

Must be able to identify, define, improvise and resolve spontaneously, quality, sanitation and technical problems.
