Description & Requirements

Position Summary:

Our Accounting team is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to support the Logistics Accounting and Finance Teams. This role will report to the Manager of Logistics Accounting and is responsible for understanding the end-to-end of the logistics financial processes. Where necessary- this role will help design new accounting processes and procedures to incorporate new businesses and sites into the existing system landscape. This role will also lead system enhancements required for any new processes and procedures related to logistics. This role is also responsible for complex analysis- as requested by the Lead of Manufacturing & Operations Accounting. This Senior Analyst will also represent the Manufacturing and Operations Accounting Team on multiple cross-functional projects as they arise. This individual will also help ensure the appropriate design and operating effectiveness of the internal control and policy/procedural environments governing operational and transactional accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide process recommendations for multi-faceted issues that must consider logistics accounting- system design- financial policies- internal controls- and legal requirements
  • Partner with and influence cross functional teams including IT Support- Logistics Finance- Transportation Procurement- and Core Accounting
  • Prepare/review and complete at least 40 routine journal entries and ad-hoc- as needed relating to Warehousing and Transportation
  • Assist with the monthly Operations Balance Sheet review by providing support and commentary on in-scope Logistics balances
  • Improve documentation and stream-line processes around month-end close- balance sheet reconciliations- and other routines and responsibilities
  • Develop solid understanding of the detailed processes that impact monthly logistics costs
  • Develop operational knowledge of the general ledger landscape within the Logistics P&L
  • Perform sophisticated ad-hoc analyses as needed
  • Support all financial related audits including compliance- internal- external- and SOX

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required
  • Ability to show initiative and make impactful decisions while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess critical thinking skills- quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data and multi-task when necessary
  • Self-Starter with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills- social skills-
  • Demonstrates an ability to get results with minimal management intervention
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and SAP knowledge desired
  • Self-starter- self-motivated- with confirmed data analysis experience desired
  • Ability to stand up processes as gaps are identified.
