Description & Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Communications professional for our International team. The role is instrumental in ensuring our business strategy is embedded and understood across the International Zone- employees understand and support our company Purpose- Vision and Values- as well as the strategic vision of our Senior Leadership Team- and our International Zone is closely connected through regular and effective communications. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications- International- you will play a key role in helping to develop and cascade our international communications strategy- ensuring quality and excellence across the Zone.


Internal Comms strategy:

  • Work closely with the Corporate Communications Director to develop and deliver our Zone-wide Internal Communications plan- aligning with our Global communications approach and supporting our International business strategy- Purpose- Vision- and Values
  • Cascade the IZ comms plan to the BUs- working closely with local Comms leads to adapt for local needs and priorities
  • Provide input into and help deliver the global comms channel strategy- ensuring each channel has a purpose- Zone content is developed appropriately for the appropriate channels- and BUs adopt channel processes / governance
  • Coordinate and maintain a Zone-wide communications calendar- ensuring a steady cadence for Zone and BU comms- and alignment with Global communications objectives
  • Pilot a new employee engagement channel- feeding into the global strategy from an International POV- socializing it to BUs and key collaborators across the IZ- and helping to drive adoption and trial at launch

Content Development & Communications Execution:

  • Responsible for maintaining quality and consistency of messaging across the IZ- ensuring all central messaging and storytelling supports- and reflects- our global narrative and approach
  • Partner with the extended comms team- and lead the execution of all proactive internal communications routines including a quarterly Townhall with Zone LT- annual leadership convention- a monthly newsletter- key campaigns/initiatives- organisational announcements and functional leadership communications
  • Lead the story-mining process for IZ- unearthing compelling people- brand and business stories from our BUs to showcase across the Zone and globally; you will actively engage in a central editorial planning process with global comms leads- bringing great story ideas and developing compelling content for use globally / Zone-wide
  • Own the development of template materials and creative campaign assets for use across the Zone- and for localisation within BUs
  • Support the Corporate Communications Director with crisis communications and / or be part of an incident response team as needed
  • Support the smooth and efficient running of our International internal communications team- ensuring all Zone communications plans- priorities- communications materials and assets- and best-practices are shared in a timely and efficient way
  • Act as a central point of contact for all internal communications leads across the Zone- working with them closely on execution of International Zone priorities and local BU initiatives
  • Collaborate regularly with internal communications leads in the Global team and across North America- coordinating on key initiatives
  • Develop and maintain regular routines with key internal customers across P&P- DI&B- ESG- Business Resource Groups (BRGs)- Operations and within our International Headquarters (IHQ)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant experience managing internal and external communications- corporate communications- issues management- and leadership engagement- ideally in a fast-paced global commercial organisation or in a client-facing role
  • Experience and comfort level working with HR- with an understanding of the unique needs this function has
  • Degree level education- with a background in public relations- journalism or marketing
  • 8+ years of experience working in a public relations / marketing communications function
  • Strong project management and leadership skills with outstanding organisational- budget management and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills- both written and verbal. A strong command of the English language and the ability to simplify complicated messages
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels- and able to instil confidence in senior leadership and peers
  • Skilled in dealing with sensitive- complex and confidential issues and situations
  • A familiarity with ESG communications
  • Commercially astute and able to align your objectives with that of the wider business
  • Self-motivated- able to work autonomously: a bias for action- reliable- excellent presentation skills
  • Confident bringing new ideas
