Description & Requirements

The Specialist- Internal Communications will work with the Global Internal Communications Leads to support the development and execution of the Company’s employee communications strategy with a focus on people and performance. This involves daily- weekly- and monthly communications initiatives- handling the logistics and execution of Company internal and external monthly- quarterly and annual events (i.e. town halls- global employee meetings/leadership conventions- etc.)- and oversight of company-wide communications tools and channels.

Support the Execution of Global & North America Internal Communications Strategy

  • Support the Global Internal Communications Lead to deliver effective and engaging employee communication routines to build an informed- collaborative and proud employee population that understands the Company’s Purpose- Vision and Values- strategic goals- and how their work connects to the Company’s growth.
  • Work cross-functionally with the WHQ and Zone Communications Teams and Key Functional Stakeholders to align on communication goals- channel strategy- and messaging.
  • Ensure consistent tone and messaging across all global communications- ensuring that key themes are represented as frequently as possible.

Ownership of Companywide Internal Communications Tools and Channels

Develop internal communications channel management strategy and protocols for- but not limited to- the following tools and platforms:

  • FirstUp- our new global employee engagement app
  • Polite Mail- our email tracking and analytics software
  • KHConnect- our global SharePoint site
  • Outlook- be responsible for the distribution of all global employee emails and event invites via shared company news mailbox
  • Work with global functions including- but limited to- HR- IT- Legal and Finance to draft and send communications to various segments of the employee population.
  • Maintain a calendar of upcoming global internal communications and advise on appropriate timing for messages.

Global/Corporate Event Support and Execution

Manage logistics and execution of global/corporate internal and external events- including:

  • Support global town hall webcasts and other internal events- including logistics- day-of management- and content development.
  • Monthly and quarterly leadership meetings
  • Executive townhalls with employees across the company including manufacturing facilities and corporate offices

Miscellaneous Global Internal Communications Support

  • Ensure global organizational initiatives and projects are optimally communicated to employees and team members.
  • Plan- edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums- including town hall presentations- organizational announcements- intranet copy and employee engagement campaigns.
  • Create and edit videos for all our internal communication platforms.
  • Design visual materials for our digital signage and other print mediums.
  • Ghostwrite and send messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and across different departments of our organization.
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages.

Experience and Skills

  • BA in Communications or equivalent with working experience at a global consumer organization or communications agency.
  • Corporate internal communications experience.
  • Strong communications skills- both written and verbal- to engage senior Company leadership- media and other company collaborators
  • Proven experience leading communications with customers
  • Track record of event planning and execution
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
  • Genuine desire to support colleagues across multiple departments- and ability to work optimally on a team by relating to a variety of personalities
  • General knowledge of various internal communications platforms- channels- and tools.
  • Vendor management experience preferred.
  • Daring- collaborator- teammate and individual contributor.
  • Strong project management skills- with ability to build and track timelines- keep projects moving.
  • Strong organization skills- with good tools and processes to handle and track information.
