Description & Requirements

This role is responsible for developing and driving eCommerce media strategies for Instacart- Target- and Shipt including direct partnerships- 360 programmatic media buying- paid social and paid search to deliver the execution of complex programs consistently and successfully. This position requires that the candidate be a strategic thinker- self-starter- strong communicator- results oriented and highly motivated.  This individual will hold a diverse role in both the planning and management marketing executions across customers as well as understanding post activation results and determining recommended action plans. 


Primary Responsibilities 

  • Develop holistic advertising campaigns and marketing strategies that include Instacart- Shipt and Target onsite and offsite traffic drivers (targeted display ads- paid search- paid social- and acquisition emails) to deliver upon key KPIs 

  • Manage day-to-day relationship with our retail media and agency partners- including overseeing retailers’ media budget 

  • Partner with eCommerce Sales- Shopper Marketing- and Brand teams to drive holistic omnichannel strategies that achieve campaign and business objectives (Target) 

  • Deliver topline sales- market share and media efficiency targets (return on investment- cost-per-click) 

  • Define search strategy and structure- including targeted keywords and content development 

  • Create detailed media briefs for various initiatives to launch programs that comply with brand guidelines- align with business objectives- and exceed defined performance KPIs 

  • Synthesize campaign learnings and communicate data-driven recommendations and best practices to the sales and brand leadership on a regular basis 

  • Collaborate with the Consumer Insights- BU Strategy & Development and Category Management teams to identify growth areas and white space opportunities 

  • Develop test and learn innovation plans to continuously drive the business forward 

  • Define new product launch and go-to-market plans for eCommerce  

  • Continuously pushes the envelope and develops forward thinking strategies and roadmaps as media capabilities evolve  

  • Serve as lead eCommerce media strategy contact for designated Business Unit 

Manage and oversee one direct reports’ performance and development 



  • Exceptional communication skills- with experience managing multiple stakeholders’ expectations 

  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills to internal and external partners- as well as senior leadership (GM and President Level) 

  • Strong leadership ability through ambiguity and change 

  • Proven media expert 

  • Strong personal motivation in fast paced- high pressure environment with a bias for action 

  • Ability to effectively work independently as well as collaboratively across multiple functions  

  • Minimum 6 years of media experience- 7-8+ years preferred 

  • Prior or relevant experience in Retail (eCommerce a plus) and/or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) required 

  • Media buying experience- DSP- DMP and ad serving/tracking (DCM) understanding preferred 

  • Prior media agency experience preferred 

  • Prior people management experience preferred
