Base Salary Range: $96,800.00 - $121,000.00

Target Total Cash Range: $121,000.00 - $151,250.00

Target Total Cash: Target total cash represents this role's annualized cash earning potential at target (base salary + target bonus). Target total cash is contingent on targeted company performance achievement and individual attainment of performance goals. Therefore, target total cash is not guaranteed earnings.

Description & Requirements

As a Senior Quality Automation Engineer- you will work within an agile- cross-functional team to validate production features and functionality against documented requirements and specifications while adhering to strict Quality Engineering and SDLC best practices. This role will collaborate on requirements and design- write test cases- test new features and updates- and be responsible for the establishment and growth of automated testing and an automated regression testing policy. This position requires a well-organized- experienced Quality Engineering leader to work independently while demonstrating a strong understanding of automation testing within software development. This role also offers a unique opportunity to be a central part in our shift to fully automated testing that involves Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). The position will become part of a newly formed- growing quality engineering team.

As a successful candidate- you are results-driven and bring strong quality engineering and specifically automation skills and a deep understanding of SDLC. You are a person of high integrity- who believes in challenging the status quo when needed- while always first seeking to understand.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Help build and manage a strategy of continuous quality on the digital engineering teams.
  • Design- develop and implement automation testing (e.g.- regression- functional- data validation- system integration- load- performance- and/or visual tests) for new and existing functionality.
  • Work closely with development teams to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development process.
  • Plan- create- execute- and automate test cases- working with business partners- developers- and other stakeholders.
  • Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective action.
  • Isolate- reproduce- manage- and maintain defects and test case databases- and verify fixes.
  • Support user acceptance testing conducted by business partners or end users.
  • Conduct exploratory testing and risk analysis for complex features- e.g.- those that span across platforms or teams.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce testing time and effort by automating repeatable tests.
  • Enhance and maintain the test automation framework. 
  • Conduct necessary testing on the web applications and mobile devices- as needed.
  • Test reports written in PowerBI or Tableau including data validation- visual testing- and functional testing.
  • Assist with implementing and/or testing data quality checks using Collibra data management tool- as needed.
  • Understand and apply automated testing approaches such as model-based testing or record-and-replay.
  • Research- recommend- and implement new testing technologies and practices using artificial intelligence and other innovative testing practices.
  • Determine and implement quality metrics on digital product teams.
  • Champion and implement quality and testing best practices. 
  • Collaborate and share information with other software QA engineers- e.g.- by participating in a community of practice.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Computer Science- Math- or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with a progressive increase of responsibility.
  • 3+ years of experience with developing or maintaining frontend and/or backend automation frameworks (e.g.- Selenium- Cypress- Puppeteer- Playwright- API- etc.).
  • Experience with testing the output of or working with Power BI- Tableau- or other similar data visualization tools.
  • Experience testing on web and/or mobile applications.
  • Software development knowledge or experience with programming languages such as Python- Java- or Javascript as well as shell scripting.
  • Experience writing SQL to perform detailed data validation.
  • Knowledge and experience with test automation and object-oriented programming best practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing test plans.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g.- Azure Devops- TestRail- XRay- Qtest- Quality Center).
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify- isolate and document defects.
  • Strong knowledge of agile practices and experience with agile scrum ceremonies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration skills and ability to work on a cross-functional team including business and technical partners.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge and experience with Excel and other Office 365 products.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience developing or testing apps on the Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.
  • Experience conducting automated performance testing is a plus.
  • Manual or automated API testing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with data science- business intelligence engineering- and/or data engineering is a plus.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and observability tools is a plus.
  • Experience working with AI-based testing or tools to augment test automation is a plus.
  • Possess applicable certifications such as through ISTQB or Microsoft Power Platform are a plus.

 Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic understanding of automation tools and frameworks- with hands-on ability to implement automated tests.
  • Proven experience testing applications within a Microsoft environment (Microsoft Power Platform and Azure).
  • Proven experience with Selenium and JavaScript or other similar frameworks and languages.
  • Strong SQL and data validation skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in software development or data engineering with object-oriented programming skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for soliciting and sharing relevant information for a project from different teams.
  • Experience using agile planning/tracking tools such as Jira- Azure Devops- or other Kanban/Scrum tools.

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment
