We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead packaging development projects across our Platforms- working with renowned brands like Oscar Mayer- Kraft- Maxwell House- Kool Aid- and Crave.

As a Sr Scientist- you will have the opportunity to drive innovation- renovation- and maintenance of packaging- enabling growth and ensuring quality objectives and business continuity for Kraft Heinz technical leadership role and will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our packaging solutions.

  • This candidate should have a proven record of carrying out work plans and driving for results in a variety of exciting and sophisticated settings- passionate about growth- brand maintenance and quality improvement. 
  • This includes understanding the business need- designing- and implementing tests- analyzing data- drawing conclusions- documenting- communicating results- and commercializing products. 
  • Proven communication and teamwork skills are critical in this role- which operates in a multifaceted and cross-functional environment.
  • The candidate must also have a technical background and be able to apply prior learning or scientific principles to new situations.
  • This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/ tasks concurrently and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously- a majority of the time.
  • Exhibiting a collaborative attitude and applying innovative solutions are a must.

Key Components of the role:

  • Work with cross functional teams- acting as packaging lead to drive execution across multiple projects from different product categories.
  • Manage multiple assignments/research projects concurrently and possess the ability to prioritize between a variety of business initiatives.
  • Complete packaging testing- qualification and commercialization while working closely with cross-functional team members in laboratory and production environments.
  • Translate research findings into relevant business opportunities and communicate to cross-functional teams
  • Adapt and apply scientific principles to new situations/products
  • Specification creation and updating- with attention to detail

  • BS/MS in Packaging- Chemical Engineering- Mechanical Engineering- or related field
  • Proven experience in Packaging Development and commercialization (which can include internships)
  • Strong understanding of key subject matter in areas such as packaging materials- pkg equipment/materials interaction- and packaging laboratory test methods
  • Excellent communication- influencing- and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead- coach and motivate others.
  • Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with ability to prioritize work
  • Willingness to travel 30%

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment
