Description & Requirements

The Role

In this role- you will be joining a team of passionate food professionals who are consumer obsessed! The Kraft Kitchens began in 1924 and our team of culinary professionals have had the great privilege of bringing delicious- relevant food solutions and new product innovations to millions of consumers. We pride ourselves on being the expert culinary connection to food and cooking in the real world.  We are looking for a consumer obsessed culinary professional to join our team – someone who is creative- strategic- independent and collaborative and who can execute with a high attention of detail and communication.

This is a hands-on culinary kitchen role- under the guidance of the manager.  You will work cross functionally during the strategic planning- development and execution of food marketing plans and frequently deliver trends and consumer food insights to the businesses. You will also work cross functionally with R&D- Marketing- Sales- Sensory and Regulatory to support new platforms and innovation pipelines.

Key Components

- Demonstrate understanding of culinary basics: The principles of cooking techniques; Product characteristics; Safe food handling techniques; Food & nutrition idea development; Product performance testing protocols.  

- Understand how to effectively apply consumer food insights along with sensory attributes and principles into project work to guide decision-making.

- With manager oversight-  understand and execute against business strategies and priorities. 

- Understand- adhere to and communicate Culinary best practices within the department and to business partners.  Apply knowledge from proprietary culinary tools and research.

-- Develop well-written and consumer inspired food ideas- using established formats and styles. Effectively master the use of proprietary recipe database which includes understanding consumer nutrition guardrails.

- With supervision- conduct product performance tests and comprehensive evaluations for foolproof package directions and claims substantiations.

- Demonstrate a good understanding of and support the development of line extension product concepts or gold standard prototypes as required by assigned businesses; provide product feedback to cross-functional team as required.

- Review with Manager- food-related copy on package labels- advertising- promotion and publicity to ensure accuracy- clarity and conformance to corporate guidelines. 

-Able to effectively communicate ideas and research in  presentations to cross-functional teams.

- Translate Food and Nutrition strategies in food styling management and photo assessment.

- Work well in a cross-functional team environment- able to balance multiple and/or shifting priorities- and flex to provide support to colleagues as needed.  

 - Proactively track food trends to determine where product innovation and content creation opportunities exist- then translates how those trends could come to life to support the business strategies.

- Represent the Culinary function and participate in internal and external Culinary initiatives.

- Consistently demonstrate the Culinary Community commitment- guardianship and passion for food and consumer interest.

Qualifications

-  Bachelor’s degree required- food science- culinary arts/ culinology- nutrition & food- food business preferred

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in culinary- food and nutrition

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in brand and corporate culinary assignments

- Excellent Culinary Skills

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and influencing skills
