Description & Requirements

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking Machinist to work in our maintenance area in Mason- OH.  Successful candidates must be willing to contribute improvements suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work in a team orientated- fast paced work environment.  This position requires individuals to perform specialized production duties in a food manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards.  Currently hiring for second shift (2pm-10pm) positions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • History of safe work practices.
  • Candidates preferably will be available to work all shifts including second- third & weekends and holidays
  • Applicants must be able to perform and train self/others on basic mechanical skills- mechanical repairs and overhauls- maintenance systems- computer skills- new technologies in preventive/predictive maintenance- problem solving/troubleshooting- etc. where skills are not at the required level
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance/ Job Shop Machinist
  • Must be able to maintain and operate all equipment in assigned area
  • Demonstrate successful application of problem-solving techniques- effective communication and planning
  • Ability to safely lift and carry 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Outstanding attendance record.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to call out defects and adhere to Quality standards.
  • Achieve qualified score on job skills assessment- to be administered after receiving a passing interview score

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday- 2 pm to 10 pm (2nd Shift- variable based on assigned work)

Job Overview:

As a Machinist you’ll be a part of a dedicated team who operates machining equipment to supply needed parts to the maintenance team for machine repairs and construction. These machines make anything from ranch to syrup which will be enjoyed by 1000’s of consumers nationwide.

Responsibilities & Duties-

May include- but isn’t limited to:

Receives instructions and duty assignments from maintenance supervisor or lead machinist

  • Ownership and responsibility for assigned equipment and plant areas; will submit input to lead machinist on current or potential problems in the areas of Safety- Quality- Equipment condition/performance and Facilities
  • Follow through on agreed actions to include parts procurement and scheduling

Understand the customer/supplier relationship- both internal and external Review Samples- drawings- or instructions to understand specifications of output Fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal- plastic- and composites Troubleshoot malfunctioning apparatus and repair equipment effectively Perform PM’s Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed- maintain temperature- and identify issues Check outputs to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects Accurately fills out all required paperwork and tracks units produced (approved- defective- etc.). Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages Perform mathematical calculations to real life scenarios (- fractions- decimals- percentages- ratios- and proportions) Use or Program Manual- Semi-Automated- or automated tools and machines (lathes- grinders- mills- drill press- hydraulic press- chop saw- band saw- push and pull broaches etc.) Use precision tools (e.g. micrometers- calipers) to take accurate measurements Understand properties of metals (especially food grade metals) and other material Assist with Projects to include

  • Building Fabric repair / modifications
  • Equipment installations

Perform all tasks observing regulations / policies and needs for Safety- Quality- GMP’s- customer needs and workmanship Administration duties to include daily audits- parts orders and work orders; must be filled out accurately Must have own tools Other duties as assigned
