Description & Requirements

Position Summary

Kraft Heinz World Headquarters is seeking a Tax Analyst to assist the state and local tax team. This position is exposed to significant sales and use tax responsibilities- credits and incentives- as well as support for federal and state income tax.  A high degree of organization and the ability to effectively maintain and utilize software systems and excel spreadsheets is required in order to successfully discharge the responsibilities of this position.  The position will provide the successful candidate a broad experience level in sales/use and income tax. This Tax Analyst role will work with the Manager- Tax and will assist in the Indirect Tax area – specific to sales and use- beverage- plus some federal and state income tax support.  This role will also provide broad exposure to the various business functions and their processes as they relate to indirect tax. This also offers an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of the Kraft Heinz business practices and systems.  Activities include working with members of the extended Corporate Tax team- plus various internal and external partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Preparation and execution of monthly data and coordination with external partners for Indirect tax compliance
  • Provide support for federal and state income tax compliance team
  • Secure and organize data for state and local income tax- sales/use tax- beverage tax and business license audits
  • Perform tax research on taxability positions- daily invoice tax code- as well as compliance and audit purposes
  • Partner with Information Technology team on updating monthly Vertex updates
  • Issuance and collection of Exemption/Resale/Direct Pay Certificates
  • Provide support for refund claims and credits & incentive opportunities
  • Assist with resolving invoice issues as they relate to tax
  • Assist with tax department special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required
  • A minimum of 1+ years’ experience working in the area of state and local tax
  • The successful candidate must have a basic level knowledge of state and local tax – both income and sales/use
  • Excellent analytical- communication- and interpersonal skills; plus the ability to multi-task and perform in a rapidly growing environment
  • Experience or working knowledge of SAP and Vertex is preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel- Word- Outlook- PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills- self-starter and ability to meet deadlines
  • Willing to travel – 5-10%
