Description & Requirements

Under the direction and supervision of a Technician Manager- the Technician is responsible for supporting day to day execution of pilot plant production activities and supporting technical projects.  They will support pilot plant production trials- assist with pilot plant project initiatives- create work orders and POs- and assess equipment and utility malfunctions.  

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Partners with developers- other pilot plant technicians- and maintenance on critical work needs.

  • Support pilot plant projects from ideation to completion.

  • Assist with pilot plant production runs- sanitation- and swabbing requirements.

  • Complete training as well as lead training for others as needed.

  • Develop knowledge of food processing equipment and demonstrate understanding of operation and safety protocols.

  • Cultivate leadership to all employees on strict adherence to safety and GMP procedures.

  • Ability to complete computer work and utilize specific systems.

  • Ability to read- understand and follow batch sheets to assist developers in production.

  • Ability to operate- maintain- sanitize- and swab equipment safely.

  • Ability to work across multiple pilot plant areas.

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.

  • Ability to accurately weigh ingredients and complete lot sheets for batches.

  • Ability to inspect equipment and products for cleanliness- foreign material- etc.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the food industry or manufacturing.  

  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely.

  • Knowledge of GMPs and Safety procedures and protocols.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and accommodate requests or change in schedule.

  • Working knowledge of food safety and quality standards.

  • Knowledge of GMPs and Safety procedures and protocols.

  • Strong communication skills required- both verbal and written.

  • Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and accommodate requests or change in schedule.

  • Microsoft Office- Word- and Excel skills required.
