What you’ll do

The Principal UI Data Visualization Designer is responsible for establishing- owning and maintaining exceptional visual design systems- patterns and frameworks across the Kraft Heinz data and analytics ecosystem- ultimately responsible for driving the practice behind data visualization design and report modeling. Responsibilities include contributing to the design- deployment and evolution of a broad-spectrum design and data visualization system along with related guidelines- documentation and patterns development. This role partners directly with Analysts- Data Scientists- Business Intelligence Engineers- Product Owners and others across the organization to build an extensible approach to telling compelling- action-oriented stories through complex data.

The Principal UI Data Visualization Designer starts off as an individual contributor with significant growth opportunities- either through personnel management or continuing through the IC track. This role contributes to the evolution and growth of Design at Kraft Heinz- working across teams and chapters to lead by example- demonstrating the importance of user-centered design thinking. As a subject matter expert- the Data Visualization Designer has the unique opportunity to define the approach and execution for storytelling with data across a portfolio of some of the world’s most iconic brands.

You will:

  • Create distinctive- branded data-driven experiences that are desirable and consistent across diverse platforms- devices and channels.
  • Contribute to the development of new product concepts- hi-fidelity screen designs- screen flows- and interactive prototypes.
  • Lead concept and usability testing in order to validate and iteratively improve design solutions.
  • Actively collaborate as part of a cross-functional agile team- including during the QA process to ensure designs are feasible and implemented to spec.
  • Lead all aspects of design systems: color theory- typography- data visualization component selection and guidelines- motion and complex interaction states.
  • Establish principles surrounding wayfinding and behavioral pattern development.
  • Lead exercises focused on defining and building out information architecture- sitemaps- and scalable component-based design.

Who you are

  • 7+ years of experience working in the User/Customer Experience domain with an emphasis on data-driven design.
  • An evangelist for Design Thinking- with the ability to introduce this uniquely across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Independently plan- conduct- and synthesize user research and usability testing in order to advise product solutions.
  • Demonstrate outstanding visual design skills and the ability to create compelling- branded- high-fidelity interactive experiences.
  • Deep experience working within and contributing to design systems that consistently scale across platforms.
  • Possess a deep understanding of BI/Analytics- and are an expert in prototyping data visualization design and report modeling.
  • Operate across Figma- Adobe Creative Suite- Tableau- PowerBI- React- Microstrategy.
