Description:
This role is the first-line leader for training activities, providing guidance and support to training coordinators. The training leader directs and coordinates the skill development activities for all plant operations with a focus on onboarding, employee skill development, compliance training, technical and analytical support, training budget, training record management, QCMS and KHMS processes, and management of Certification program.
Key Components of the Role:
Direct and develop the training team members through delegation, stretch assignments, regular coaching and candid feedback Design and deliver upskilling programs and processes that improve Time to Full Productivity for new and new-to-role employees Coordinate with Safety, Quality and other departments to deliver compliance and other function-specific training Coordinate any externally provided training events Create a measuring mechanism to determine training effectiveness and manage ongoing training improvement activities Develop and maintain reports for plant leadership Ability to participate in and lead meetings with management and employees to provide information and guidance on training related issues Assess training budget needs and manage to a budget Maintain all training records Investigate and manage applications to state agencies to receive training funding via grants or other channels Overtime and weekend work may be required
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent communication skills required
- Proficiency with relevant software required (Microsoft 365, Connected Worker platform, etc)
- Previous employee leadership experience required
- Previous work experience as a trainer, training facilitator or similar role required
- Previous manufacturing experience required, food manufacturing experience preferred

- Must demonstrate leadership drive for results, even in ambiguity
- Must be tenacious with a positive work ethic
- Ability to multitask and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work independently as well as being able to coordinate with multiple parties
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, presentation and facilitation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels
- Able to identify and solve problems
- Must have the desire to be part of the overall training process for the facility and manage the training processes and determine direction and strategy of training for the facility.
- Must be a self starter, willing to assist other Coordinators as required without being directed to do so and take initiative to solve issues and improve processes
- Able to lead and train large and small groups.
